OMG Kristin Holmes on CNN just outdid herself

and that is saying something. She is SOOOO concerned about the people at the White House who are going through the grieving process. She used that to excuse trump blaming "leftists" without evidence for the shooting.

Seriously. It was like he's the real victim here. He' suffering! He's not responsible for his words! UNBELIEVABLE.

HEY KRISTIN!!! HE'S THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, not a two year old who needs a nap or even an average guy or gal who lost a friend. The White House Press Corps need to wake up.

rhetoric wrapped around his bigotries. There will be others who try, but the timing is off. Who can build the amount of followers he had?

Look at rush limbaugh. Nobody has really filled his shoes. You could say Charlie Kirk did, but in a different way. These fucking hatemongers aren't going to get the same access to college campuses. Who wants the Right's civil war fought out in schools and people caught in the crossfire.

It will be a different medium. I think JD has the capacity and he has the office.

Kirk was a snake oil salesman with a better vocabulary, peddling bigotry to kids who didn’t know they were buying poison. Rush dominated radio, Kirk prowled campuses, but neither lane is what it used to be. The next hate-monger may not have it that easy, though JD seems desperate to try. The scary part is, he’s already got the office to back it up.

Q: My condolences on the loss of your friend Charlie Kirk. How are you holding up?

TRUMP: I think very good. And by the way, right there you see all the trucks. They just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they've been trying to get for about 150 years.

They need to recognize shiny objects as such that are dangled before their eyes most days, they need to learn to cover more than one story per day and they need to stop selling their souls for access payoffs. A few chats with Main Street folks might help.

Gotta have access to the newsmaker, especially if he’s president and he’s an attention-whore.

It’s disappointing as all-get-out. But it goes with the territory. You somehow “offend” the “king”? He’ll freeze you out at the press availabilities, and pretty soon you’re the guy who gets shut out. Simpler-minded bosses don’t see it as a possible advantage, grooming “the guy everybody needs to talk to because he’s got a sky-high platform of integrity and everybody knows it.” I remember everybody looking for the new Murrow, or Cronkite soon after. Credibility was IT.

That would classify them as "woke." In my opinion, that's the proper definition of woke. It's the past tense of wake.

drug, getting people addicted to chaos, hate, extreme views with the pretense they are just reporting the “news”, while ignoring the millions who will be losing their healthcare because the ACA subsidies will go away at the end of the year, the mass layoffs that have occurred from the dismantling of government programs, with inflation increasing, unemployment increasing behind the scenes,
endangering public heath with anti-science dribble and environmental protections. etc.

The media created trump, and have been manipulating the public and their views in the names of profits and the bottom line. Those WMDs that weren’t there still reverberate in the silence of a media that propagated that myth.

The outrage that the Biden “scandal” of being old was “worse than watergate” according to some in the press.

and we aren’t being manipulated by this nonsense?

where is the outrage that a hate monger is being elevated to “some kind of hero”, deserving of national honors? Or that a woman killed in an insurrection against the government is being given military honors, or those who took part in that insurrection have been given a full pardon.

Where is the outrage?

I won’t be a spectator of what some call the “news” in this country.

Except that Trump is a child who hasn't progressed beyond the binky stage. His Presidency is a symptom of the deep well of insanity that conspiracy theorists have brought us to. And he's riding the horse that carried him to the White House.

However, in this case it was more than the usual sanewashing normalizing crap that I've grown to expect from the "journalists" who cover the White House. She really looked like she was going to burst into tears because trump was being misjudged and she empathized with him so much. I hope someone can post the clip eventually. She looked like she was going to burst into tears.

The orange pedo felon has accelerated the hate and loss of civil discourse in this country and I honestly don’t know if this country will survive ! Everyday an erosion of our democracy and constitutional rights. We are doomed. I want to be positive but I don’t think we’ll have a free and fair election.

Speaking on Fox & Friends Friday morning, Trump took the opportunity to plug preparations for the $200 million ballroom, while describing his despair at learning that his right-wing ally had been fatally shot in Utah.

“I was in the midst of, you know, building a great—for 150 years they’ve wanted a ballroom at the White House, right? They don’t have a ballroom, they have to use tents on the lawn for President Xi when he comes over; if it rains it’s a wipeout, and so I was with architects that were design[ing]—it’s gonna be incredible,” Trump rambled.

“How are you holding up over the last three and a half days?” asked one reporter, who’d also wished him condolences for Kirk.

“I think very good,” Trump replied. “And by the way, right there you see all the trucks; they just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House. Which is something they’ve been trying to get as you know for about 150 years, and it’s gonna be a beauty, it’ll be an absolutely magnificent structure. “And I just see all the trucks, they just started, so it’ll get done uh very nicely and it’ll be one of the best anywhere in the world, actually,” the president went on.

If MAGA can listen to that and not accept that Trump doesn't give a damn about Kirk, that shows how unmoored from reality they are.

Maybe he and Xi can share a dance together at the grand opening of the $200 million ballroom that no one asked for.

I have a vision of the two of them dancing to YMCA.
