Then shown to local prosecutors for them to decide if, by what they see, a crime has been committed? You don't need a name in order to see if someone is committing a crime.

If the local prosecutors feel they are committing a crime, they can seek warrants to have the feds identify them, and proceed from there.

Those arrested have a civil right to know who arrested them.
People have a right to know why they're being arrested, they have a right to ask about names and badge numbers, and they have a right to request the arrest report, which should include name and badge number information, but I don't think people have a "right to know" who's arresting them.

Moreover, imitators can impersonate masked law officers more easily. For the purpose of legal purposes, arresting officials are in power and can physically or sexually abuse those they arrest.
Bringing it back again -- if people who don't wear masks can abuse those they arrest, why the focus on removing masks? Why not focus on these abusive institutions?

How?

If I have an interaction with a police officer, how would them not having a mask make it obvious to me they are or aren't an imposter?

I would have to somehow memorize the faces of every single police officer in order to know they are legitimate.

I think the video you linked to is hilarious, and I support it 100%; it's in a public space, and something similar could be done to ICE agents whether they have their masks on or off.

But tracking down their personal information - where they live, where their spouse lives, where their kids go to school? Sorry, I don't support that.

This is a matter that must be decided by the courts and/or Congress. Masked thugs breaking into homes and cars, or throwing protestors roughly to the ground must stop.

Call your Repug Senators -- especially in red states. Resistance only works if attacked at multiple levels and by many people.

but carrying proper identity for the same reason why police officers are unmasked, have badges with numbers or other information identifying them as law enforcement, bodycams, and who disclose (usually) what people are being arrested for or charged with.

Whether or not it makes a difference in their behavior, or the ultimate outcome.

Not to mention reports of people being abducted by unidentified (people), for reasons often undisclosed, and even reports of assaults by masked individuals impersonating "law enforcement."

The possibilities for abuse and misuse are endless, we all know the shit storm that would be occurring if a Democratic adminstration pulled this,
