Jeffries: "Bro, you don't even know the rules of the United States Senate. You can't do it on your own."

MeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas reports on Donald Trump suddenly canceling the meeting that was supposed to take place on Thursday with Democratic House leader Hakeem Jeffries and Democratic Senate Leader Chuck Schumer to avoid a shutdown as Trump and MAGA Mike Johnson seem like they want to throw the government into a shutdown.

"Don't even bother dealing with them," Trump said over a week ago. "We will get it through because the Republicans are sticking together for the first time in a long time."

(excerpt)

...for the last several weeks, Donald Trump was very clear. Don't even bother talking to Democrats. We're going to do this on our own.

Bro, you don't even know the rules of the United States Senate. You can't do it on your own. It requires 60 votes, which means you have to talk to Democrats in the House and in the Senate.

So, maybe Donald Trump is confused and thinks that Democrats are going to behave like our Republican colleagues. Republicans have been nothing more than a reckless rubber stamp for Donald Trump's extreme agenda. The whole thing is embarrassing. Republicans on the Hill are a wholly owned subsidiary of Donald Trump.

But that ain't us as Democrats.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., predicted amid the latest GOP revision of the nominations rule that “it won’t take very long for Republicans to wish they had not pushed the chamber further down this awful road.”

Which they will do because they don’t have to worry about elections anymore.

Because they’re fascists. For real, honest to god, fascists.

The time to revolt is now. The time to end this shit is now.

It sucks being so ahead of the curve. Everyone thinks you’re overreacting and then the shit happens.

What stops Trump from making up his own rules and running to SCOTUS to get their blessing?

It may be a crazy thought given all that we've experienced with shutdowns and threats in the past.

I keep hearing Trump is a convicted felon, that he tried to engineer an insurrection, that he defrauded for $464 mil in damages, that he allegedly did some RICO violations in GA elections, that he grossly mishandled/misappropriated classified documents, etc.
But nothing seems to stick.

What is different here that would give us confidence?
