“Senate Majority Leader John Thune isn’t endorsing the slash-and-burn campaign White House budget director Russ Vought has planned for the federal government during the pending shutdown,” Politico reports.

“But he says Democrats have no one to blame for it but themselves.”

Said Thune: “This is the risk of shutting down the government and handing the keys to Russ Vought… we don’t control what he’s going to do.”

CNN: Russ Vought’s plan to deconstruct the government was years in the making.

MAGA is trying to roll out the 'fresh face' Russ Vought to establish dominance and instill fear since Stephan Miller or Trump himself are not instilling enough fear. I say we call Vought "that wimpy dandy Russell Vought" from here on in.

He just nuked the filibuster a few weeks ago to ram through a boatload of rightwing judges.

He can just do that again if he wanted to avert a shutdown. Tonight.

The few Democrats who decided he was okay might be held to blame, but Voight is, like Noem, RFK Jr., Kegsbreath, and all the other *rump nominees the Senate had few problems with are totally GOP and MAGA creatures.
Thune knew what Voight was put in position to do. And he was just fine with it.
Like six year olds caught breaking the cookie jar to steal the cookies, and pointing at the dog in the other room to blame it for the mess.
