Trump is says he will give Americans $1000 or $2000 in dividends because he's making so much money from the tariffs.

I see it as buying votes.

Revenue taken in by the US Treasury in FY 2025 (includes tariffs) = $4.69 Trillion.

US Spending in FY 2025 $6.66 Trillion.

Surplus = NEGATIVE $1.97 Trillion

Amount added to National debt = $1.97 Trillion

Giving tariff dividend would increase the amount added to the debt to well over $2 Trillion.

Drop in the bucket compared to increased costs we now have. Plus we are getting less. And let's not forget about all those who were and will be out of work. But the sheeple will hail it as a huge success.

He's trying to buy love.

maga suckers will think it's free money. There are still many maga who swear up and down that foreign countries are paying the tariff taxes, not themselves.

Shelves will be a bit thin as Black Friday and christmas near. Cheques would only increase competition for scarcer goods, which leads to inflation on top of tariff inflation.

He will probably do a refundable tax credit when you file your taxes next year. But to receive it you have to file so some people are not required to file due to low incomes. Those people would need to file.
