We aren't being governed, we're being looted -- Sabrina Haake

https://sabrinahaake.substack.com/p/we-arent-being-governed-were-being

During his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump disavowed familiarity with Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation’s plan for autocratic takeover of the US.

That disavowal proved as truthful as his promise not to disturb the East Wing of the White House.

Curtis Yarvin, whose philosophy punctuates the main tenets of Project 2025, supported Trump’s campaign because he thought Trump would overthrow democratic institutions and replace the presidency with a “Monarchist CEO” who would run the country like a for-profit corporation.

Trump, profiting from office like no other president in US history, is well on his way. On October 28, Forbes reported that Trump— at only ten months into his second term— has nearly tripled his personal net worth, increasing it from $2.5 billion in 2020 to $7.1 billion today, largely from crypto schemes and pay-to-play federal transactions.

Accumulating acts of corruption

Last week, Trump announced a list of 37 wealthy donors funding his 90,000 square foot $300 million gilded ballroom. Donors include several billionaire individuals, along with data-analytics company Palantir, defense contractor Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, YouTube, Apple, Comcast, Amazon, T-Mobile, Chevron, Google, Hard Rock International, and Meta, most of whom have already seen or expect to see a surge in federal contracts.

In The Corruption Chronicles, Issue One compiled a partial list of other ways Trump has monetized the presidency by transforming it into a vehicle for his own private gain. From selling access to his administration to using foreign visits to attract financial support for his own businesses, Trump has officially turned his presidency into a for-profit venture.

. . .

It is amazing this goes on and on and nothing of any significance happens to stop it.

They've privatized our country. It's been a giant seductive shell game for the greedy. They lie, cheat, steal and hide. Have the Oligarchs literally stolen us blind? What about The People?

When asked of the Project of ’25,
Trump swore, “Never heard of that hive!”
But the Heritage crew,
And their monarchist view,
Were the gears that kept his dream alive.

Curtis Yarvin had quite the plan,
To crown a CEO, not a man.
No ballots, no fuss,
Just one boss for us—
And Trump said, “Now that’s how I ran!”

He vowed not to touch the East Wing,
“Melania’s space—let it sing!”
But like all his oaths,
It dissolved into growths—
Of gold drapes and diamond inlay bling.

A decade ago he had two,
Now seven billion’s in view.
From crypto to graft,
He laughed and he laughed—
“Public office? It pays to accrue!”

He’s building a ballroom so wide,
A temple to wealth and to pride.
The donors all beam,
In the pay-to-play scheme—
Their contracts already supplied.

Lockheed and Meta applaud,
While Palantir gives a nod.
The checks flow in streams,
Fulfilling their dreams—
As Trump wields the scepter of fraud.

He’s selling the access by pound,
To buyers both foreign and bound.
Each visit, each deal,
Is sealed with his seal—
A nation turned cash playground.

So here in the Chronicles told,
Is a leader both brash and bold.
He’s made it his mission,
To mint a commission—
Where democracy’s traded for gold.
