We proved today that the Democratic Party has the power. Now we need to start planning what we will do after next year's elections.
What are the big issues and how can we make those changes?
Example: we NEVER would be in this sad state of it wasn't for Citizens United. What can we do to undo that awful decision? There are many steps, one is impeachment, another is adding more justices. There are a long list of things that have to happen for this to occur. Document them all on this paper.
Tax the living shit out of the billionaires- wealth tax, income taxes on all their stock options, hire an army of wealth averse tax auditors for the IRS... Get back the money that the GOP has been transferring from the middle and lower classes to the billionaires.
What else is on our dream list? Redistricting, Universal Healthcare, repair of all Trump's damage... We need a list, and all the steps to implement it. Just like the conservatives did with their Project 2025.
Ours will be in two phases- 2027 and 2029. Some of this can begin now, some will need help from the mid-terms.

(15,595 posts)lis literally undo Project 2025 line by line. Uncorrupt the Justice Department. Fire incompetence. Hire back experience, inspectors general, and ethics watchdogs.
Just that is a handful. Yes, we need to envision a better future and work towards it, but we will be hampered unless we clean house as much as possible of everything Trump corrupted.

(13,315 posts)Getting rid of all those Magats in government is a good start. They must be replaced with very strong confident leaders who will stand up to the remaining twats until they are all excised from our culture.

there isnt one. And Ill never understand why there is no messaging in my party. No long term planning.
Republicans spent 40-years planning and scheming to take control of the one crucial branch of government constantly in their way, patiently getting, over time, control of their most hated foe (and key to future success) the SUPREME COURT!
What is the plan to get it back? Who is leading it?
Hell - does it even exist???

TSF can't pardon that.
That can be done NOW.

(6,480 posts)hearing about the danger of Project 2025 for a year of the election campaign season. Why there wasnt a focused response and plan of our own flabbergasted me and still does.

(13,315 posts)All those data centers around the country were built with the lie that they would provide lots of high paying jobs. They didn't.
Even more are being built now and these are focused on AI which requires far more electricity to run. While replacing jobs across the globe.
So let's quadruple the price that these companies pay for electricity and water. If they leave because of that, so what? It's a benefit IMO.

(38 posts)Of course we need ideas and a platform and policies.
But please lets not call it project 2027 or the new contract for america.
We do not need, in any way, shape or form, to be copying these assholes.
