✅ Flipped 6 Republican seats
✅ Protected 4 Democratic incumbents
✅ Flipped the City of Georgetown back under Democratic control
And in addition to all of this, they made history in Aiken, where voters elected the first Black city councilmember to ever represent a majority-white district. Congratulations to Braylen Waldo on his historic win!
These victories were gained from every region of our state. And big donors or political insiders didnt fuel them; they were powered by you, by grassroots organizing, and by faith in whats possible when people come together for change.
Every candidate we supported was outspent by their Republican opponent. But we didnt back down. We knocked on doors, made calls, and reminded our neighbors that hope is stronger than fear, and people power beats dark money every time.
This is the movement were building. This is the foundation for 2026.
Lets keep going South Carolina is ready to rise.

(34,539 posts)I had a Democratic Senator (Fritz Hollings, Jr.) AND a Democratic Representative. It wasn't a "blue" state, but it wasn't fully "red," either. It was, and still is, a reddish-purple victim of gerrymandering. People got suckered by the corrupt, hypocritical Gingrich regime, and it has only gotten worse. But, I the fever is finally about to break.

(1,142 posts)Not being competitive in too many states is a major problem. We tend to support Senate or governor candidates without doing the down ticket races that help build the brand for those higher ticket races.

(34,539 posts)Aiken is where Lee Atwater grew up, and in many ways, it's still the same place it was when he was a kid. They love them some Joe "You Lie" Wilson, too. Hopefully, her election is a sign that times are really changing here...
