(2,710 posts)I expect something about the "Democrats in Disarray" due to not knowing how to deal with unaccustomed success.

(2,615 posts)jump off thee Trump Train, and attach themselves to the next "winner", and start denouncing Trump. As if all the crap they did in Trump's name evaporates..
While this will insure Trump's fall, do not trust the Republican turncoats

(493 posts)...you can never be in disarray.
All threats are external. You only need to quadruple down on your core values of racism, misogyny, xenophobia, and religious nationalism to continue on in your mission.
Disarray is reserved for those that do not possess a mindlessly dogmatic approach.

(23,309 posts)"MAGA has descended into a blame fest, arguing over whether Republicans had failed to mobilize enough voters or if internal fighting and other strategic missteps were to blame."
Um, it's none of those, fuckwits! MAGA is about towing a foreign adversaries agenda, whereby you destroy institutions, tear down democracy, install unqualified nepotists and cronies, subvert political norms and the U.S. Constitution, strongarm, and oppress the very people you are suppose to serve.
But serving as an elected official has never been a Republican trait. They simply run successful wedge campaigns, get elected, then go about robbing the state and federal treasuries, enriching themselves and their ilk.
FUCK MAGA TRAITORS!

All good alternatives that the right-wing water carrying reptilian media don't have the intestinal fortitude to publish on this day.

(2,969 posts)have been winning. They convinced t Americas that they were really conservative and longed for an authoritarian government. Thank goodness they have now crashed that bus by deploying the dictatorial and delusional DJT as their leader.
The horrible spectacle of armed and masked thugs violently attacking and grabbing individuals from the street was too extreme, too violent, too
cruel. Their biggest mistake was using video of those attacks to gain approval when the videos repulsed us.
I think those ICE videos were a very influential factor in the election.

(2,973 posts)it would be in our best interests to not read this as some sort of massive shift. We need to start focusing on policy. These elections were never at risk in the first place. Yes, it's great that they turned out how they did, but assuming this is a trend is a mistake. We need to start promoting policy nation-wide, and we need to start now. The NYC mayoral race is not an indicator of the national mood in any way. It just means NYC can't stand Cuomo. A Republican was never going to be a contender there. the others are basically the same minus the Cuomo variable. Historical trends already favor us for the upcoming mid-terms, but we need numbers, large numbers. And we will not achieve that if we do not court the independents with clearly stated plans and policy goals.

(42,539 posts)Democrats have been the adults who usually have done cleanup, then rebuild, then build back better, but corporate media stay silent about what Dems DO and do right. For them there's only profit in drama and division.

We can't rely on them, they are for-profit organizations and will operate as such. They are not friends, promoters, or anything of the sort. Talking points and pointing fingers at Trump will not win the mid-terms for us. We have to actually say what we are going to do, why were are going to do it, then actually do it. This soap-opera style politics is unstable and shifts with the winds. We need to get back to policy.

(42,539 posts)promoting life, and our people living lives of abundance.
Let us in all the troubles of life remember -- that our one lack is life -- that what we need is more life -- more of the life-making presence in us making us more, and more largely alive. It is the presence of death we are weary of. Of all things let us avoid the false refuge of a weary collapse, a hopeless yielding to things as they are. We must never weary of doing good.

(730 posts)that 90%of people voting for Mamdani were voting FOR him and NOT AGAINST Cuomo. This may or may mot apply to other races. But as you suggest, clearly our work is not done.

(12 posts)This election rebuilt the DNC's farm team, which is what the DNC desperately needs. If next year is a wave election, they'd have to nominate or have special elections for people who vacate their seats to become governor/senator/representatives/etc.
Today's mayor will become tomorrow's representative. Then next week's governor then next month's VP nominee.
The DNC's farm team was hollowed out after the last 2 cycles.
And next year is looking like a wave election.
