2. GOPhers wouldn't know actual socialism....

... if it bit 'em on the ass. Back when the Affordable Care Act was being debated, I had a former co-worker/Facebook friend who was calling it socialism. I suggested that she go read a book on socialism, then come back and tell me how buying private insurance in a competitive marketplace exchange was socialistic, and good luck with that assignment. She probably came close to strangling herself, tying herself in such convoluted knots that she would've flunked any political science test I ever took. Today's GOPhers & MAGAts are in the same boat.

IMO, the US could use a big dose of socialism in several industries like medicine and transportation.

8. We need a bit of both: socialism and capitalism. And democratically decide each end and beginning.

R-wingers seem to believe socialists will decide strength and number of nuts hold a car tire. Really? A politician! I don't think so.

Should capitalists decide that it is cheaper to kill people than to let them live? NOT if I can stop them.

Our Constitution allows for changes. What is impossible for US to do. ANSWER: NOTHING. We have full and total control.

So, is government socialistic? YES, because it can be if 3/4 or more of us agree to something.

We need both. We just need to be careful with them. When pure, they both lead to a bad ending only from different directions.

9. Why do people misuse the word "socialism" so much?

It's not just government ownership. It's about working class control of government and economy. It exists nowhere--it's totally theoretical.

"Socialism for the rich" is NOT SOCIALISM!!! Favoring the rich is literally how CAPITALISM works.

It's one of those words, like "liberal" and "woke" that republicans made a "bad word." They use it to accuse Democrats of doing evil things and as you've noticed, if they don't like something, they call it "liberal" or "woke" or "socialism."
