Will the Supreme Court bail out Trump regarding tariffs?

The biggest problem Trump faces is the tariff issue because it is raising prices on everything.
People are angry and upset.

But Trump cannot back down. He always doubles and triples down.

But if the SC rules against him Trump could blame them.

3. Yes. Been predicting this for a while. The one and only instance where they will check his power.

The stock market will go crazy happy with the tariff uncertainty.
And the CEOS will keep prices high.
The rat bastards win again.

4. My observation is that Roberts always defers to the power of the sitting president.

I have posted this in another thread.

Obama with ACA, Trump with immunity, GWB with executive power and the war on terror, Biden with DACA, and some Covid and voting rights cases.

I think Trump will win this case, SCOTUS ruling that Congress has delegated its tariff power with various laws.
The Reciprocal Trade Agreements Act of 1934 (RTAA)
Trade Expansion Act of 1962 — Section 232
Trade Act of 1974

How anyone expects to get limits on presidential power already authorized in small parts over almost 100 years from THIS SCOTUS is beyond me.

6-3 or 7-2. We do have a pro-business Justice appointed by Obama.

6. The US SC works for the AMERICAN PEOPLE. Not the sitting president.

It's one thing to defer to of a sitting president.

It is an entirely different thing to go against rule of law, the US constitution, and common sense.

In addition taking a wrecking ball the US and the American people.

work for the corporations. We would win some cases if that were not the case.

I think they will rule Trump cannot unilaterally impose tariffs. Only Congress can. But they will not make the government refund the money which leads to another issue. Since the companies already have factored the tariffs in their pricing now I do not see them lowering prices because their profit margin just increased without tariffs.

So stock market will love it.

CEOs love it because they will have reduced costs but will keep the higher prices.
Christmas prices are already set in stone.

They are giving a small lifeline to the GOP who hate tariffs. But consumers are not going to see a benefit since companies will not lower prices so the economy will still lag.
