"OpenAI is a ravenous, rapacious, and reckless organization." Their financial plans.

The quote in the thread title is from legendary software engineer Grady Booch. The tweet he's commenting on is a "summary of OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar's vision for the company she laid out today at WSJ tech conference."

Of the financial plans listed in that image, a few are worth extra attention.

They want FEDERAL GUARANTEES on loans to make them seem less insanely risky, with the risk shifted to American citizens.

They want companies already paying to use their AI tools to also have to give them a share of profits from any money they make using those tools.

They want a cut of both the discovery and the transaction when someone searches for a product using ChatGPT.
