When Republicans drop their pants and moon Democrats, Democrats need to laugh off their bravado and tell them to FUCK OFF.I do not believe Gavin Newsom needs ANY COACHING in this area.
But I also believe it needs to become more of a standard response, across the board. He's showing the way to communicate. He's like a fucking sherpa who's shining a light and flipping off every Republican who thinks they have what it takes to fuck with him.
That's why you see so many Newsom posts from me. I do believe the lad understands the winning strategy for 2026 and 2028.

After Prop 50 passed, Steve Bannon who was President Donald Trump's chief White House strategist during his first term urged the Trump administration to have Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon (who oversees the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division) sue California and win a temporary restraining order, and preventing Prop 50's new maps from going into effect through litigation. However, California Democratic Party leaders remain confident that Prop 50 will survive any court challenges.
On Wednesday, KCRA News political director Ashley Zavala reported that Gov. Newsom's office issued a statement in response to the CAGOP's lawsuit and included a taunt against both Republicans and Dhillon.
"We havent reviewed the lawsuit, but if its from the California Republican Party and Harmeet Dhillons law firm, its going to fail," stated Newsom spokesperson Brandon Richards. "Good luck, losers."

(20,814 posts)I can't remember if I posted it on DU or not, but his "advice" was to have this tied up in the courts "for the next year," as in throw a wrench in it so that the Midterms could be won by Republicans.
He's not thinking in terms of winning or losing. He's doing his usual "FLOOD THE ZONE" nonsense.

That's why we all love him and wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of his rebuttal. We identify with him. He's one of us.
Thats all Democrats are asking of our party, FIGHT these assholes. Gavin does this.

(12,303 posts)Prop 50 was a huge political risk for Newsom and California Democrats. He was willing to do it, was willing to give it his all and willing to negotiate with state party members that this was the way to go--Fight Fire with Fire.
Early pundits predicted the proposition would lose badly, and that would have been catastrophic. Newsom was not deterred; he forged ahead. His messaging, his verve won the day.
Believing in something and giving it everything you have is a huge object lesson. People respond to that. Take the risk. Leave it all on the field. Win or lose, at least you know you gave it your best.
Newsom took that risk, pushed it to the max and we all won.
The man is looking good for 2028. Just saying.
