Maddow Blog Poll shows the 'No Kings' protest movement topping MAGA in public support

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/maddow-blog-poll-shows-no-144725628.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly9jYXJpYmJlYW5jcmlja2V0LmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAANNsI3o5XHKHVWmpEBDWDaMxhNzKD5PcvMlv7Exk-idKU5O5umYKm53yOWdLFhSfWupmLUh4molQgWJGjdQSycjnP8ucKKWXESPBtvYsGOXLtpBluKJc5NC1P9i0cFqCWFWed-IlsJM2BIKYSGpbAiJ6eb5uqFU5T6cdgpefvxrv

Ahead of last month’s “No Kings” protests, Republicans launched a remarkably aggressive effort to slander Donald Trump’s critics, repeatedly insisting that the activists participating in the events “hate America.”

The smear campaign apparently didn’t work. NBC News reported on the results of its latest national poll:

The high election interest and focus on Trump also come as millions of Americans have participated in ‘No Kings’ protests against the Trump administration. In this survey, 43% say they consider themselves supporters of the No Kings protest movement — with the group largely composed of Democrats but also including around 4 in 10 independents.

Right off the bat, it’s worth emphasizing that this level of national public support for a protest movement that didn’t exist as 2025 got underway is extraordinary.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said to Fox News that participants and the Democratic Party's main constituents were "made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals".[41]

... And all we called them was deplorable ...

Maybe they were the ones in frog and unicorn costumes.

No Kings was extraordinary! Its one thing to have a protest but the way they did it... to organize local protests (2,700) all over the country (and internationally) so everyone everywhere could participate. It showed the world that there are more of us than them. Showing up mattered and people showed up! People showed up in red states too... that surprised me. There's a list, by state, in this Wikipedia page.

The October 18, 2025, protests followed the No Kings protests in June, the Free America Weekend on July 4, and the Good Trouble Lives On protest on July 17. About 200 organizations worked together to organize the October protests, including 50501 and Indivisible groups, as well as the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the Democratic Socialists of America, the American Federation of Teachers, Common Defense, the Human Rights Campaign, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN), the League of Conservation Voters, MoveOn, Public Citizen, United We Dream, and Working Families Power.[19][20] Other organizers included Third Act Movement, Party for Socialism and Liberation, Social Security Works, Communications Workers of America, Freedom From Religion Foundation, New York Civil Liberties Union, League of Women Voters and American Federation of Government Employees.

Outside the United States, protests were organized by Democrats Abroad. Various groups organized protests in the UK, including the Stop Trump Coalition.[

Organizers were "adamant that the rallies remain peaceful",[29] according to USA Today, and held virtual safety trainings ahead of the protests with help from the ACLU.
