Trump officials admit 'error' as report tears apart math behind SNAP cuts

Trump officials admitted to making a math error when they drew up plans to cut SNAP funds.

After initially announcing plans to cut SNAP benefits by 50 percent as the government entered its second month of a shutdown, the USDA reversed course Wednesday, stating in court that it done its sums incorrectly, and would now be funding 75 percent.

"There’s no way to know whether the USDA made a genuine mistake or purposefully tried to shortchange families," The New Republic wrote.

(Nope. Don’t believe it’s an error. More gameplaying. And didn’t judges order snap paid in full immediately? 75% is not in-full. Plus no payment date. This is exactly why we must not back down.)

to make SNAP recipients grateful to the Trump administration for giving them a whopping 75% of what they should be getting.
We've seen this strategy before.

"By our estimate, most people were able to survive on 75% what they normally get, that means we're giving them 25% too much..."
And cut food benefits as a government efficiency move.

I work in the Federal Government (and not getting paid as of last week, but - oh well, not the first time at this Rodeo ..) and have sat in enough budgeting discussions that I'd not be surprised to hear this Administration consider this.

The entire administration is committed to doing whatever the prolific and blatant pathological liar tells them to do, if they want to keep their jobs, and #rump has already made it clear he wants to hold Americans hostage to get what he wants: to sooth his wounded ego by killing a health care plan named for his predecessor.

In our area may get $200 food assistance each month.., That’s $50 a week…

Cut that in half — that’s $25 a week

Change that to 75 percent… That’s $37.50 a week..

Something to be thankful for, I guess…

They say they will use $4.65 billion to cover approximately 50% of the benefits due for November 2025 with a total expected cost for SNAP in November of about $8 billion, leaving a
shortfall of $4 billion and NO MONEY FOR DECEMBER.

That’s pretty much it, folks. Until we can kick him out of power (and INTO prison).
