When the guy collapsed, Trump did look at him, and Oz (who is a doctor) went to help him, as one or two others did. Then the staff started clearing the room, and Trump turned from watching the collapsed guy and his helpers to (and this was odd, I admit) staring at the camera (he thought this would look "calm and in control", perhaps???). But he hadn't "completely ignored" him - he'd watched while the people who could help him did so.

But Trump's initial reaction was fine - let the people who know what they're doing get on with it, because Trump wouldn't have added anything. Sure, the photo serves as a metaphor for his behaviour as president. But the person in need there got the best reaction he could have hoped for.

Obama calling from the podium for help for a collapsed reporter and trying to calm others in the room. I remember Trump complaining from the podium when a man fainted, hit his head and bled in front of him about the messy blood. Trump acted like a zombie yesterday.

Funny how a big poster can extract a bit of empathy for that fat orange imbecile. Quite shocking really.

p.s.- a normal, empathetic person would've at least taken a step or two in the direction of the victim just to check if ANYTHING could be done. Right?

and Dr. Oz was in immediate attendance to the stricken gent

But what strikes me is, Trump gets very detached when he is not the subject of attention.....he is jealous even when it's a guy needing medical attention - Trump is such an unreal fucking moron.

You’ve seen a decade of trump’s sociopathic behavior and you attribute his failure to demonstrate even a scintilla of concern as somehow noble?

Meh to your skills of discernment.

He claims to have been so good that he could have been recruited by major league teams had he not decided, instead, to go to Fordham. Needless to say, this was merely a few years before his debilitating foot disability prevented him from being drafted into the military.

I said turning to the camera was odd. I also said it was a good idea for him to not interfere, because he doesn't know anything about first aid, so it's good he stayed out of it.

but I think Trump turned to look to see what was happening, as most people would, and then turned back to face the cameras without a look of concern on his face except possibly annoyance that his meeting (and nap) was interrupted by someone collapsing.

He’s having more incidences of not knowing what to do, as in Tokyo where he had to be guided around a room.

since there were already a number of people looking after the guy. What was disturbing about his reaction is that he said nothing, almost immediately turned away and just stood there, apparently trying to ignore the whole situation. Most people would have at least kept watching, asked if the man was OK, did he need anything, how can I help, etc. He didn't. He just stood like a department store mannequin, looking away and not reacting at all while others administered aid. That was really weird.

It really is the only way he can function in life.

He is not the best, the most winningest, the richest, the whatever. But his superb denial defense mechanism saves him from having to admit it.

As he was the man in charge, I would have expected he take some control. In particular, he personally should have asked the media stop filming as the man got the medical help needed.

However, it more highlighted his inability to express or show empathy. This is why the Obama tape is such a contrast.

But then quickly lost interest. Put yourself in that position. Your curiosity alone, compounded by compassion, would still keep your eyes trained on what was going on with the ailing person.

It was Trump's eventual disinterest that made the photo, not being out of the way.

It’s a given—Trump acts like he has a brain disease.

Also, make room for qualified emergency personnel (ER docs are, non-practicing physicians are not) I doubt any of those people are certified or trained in emergency medicine.

With those parameters in mind, it doesn’t take trained emergency responders to help a person on the verge of fainting. Many people did, but the POTUS froze like a deer in headlights.

It wasn’t a calculated move, it was a cowardly move because he’s an imbecile and too much of a sociopath to recognize a person in need and the common response of volunteering to help in any way possible. He refused to help, it was beneath his status.

Not wanting to see disabled vets?
——————-

Can we add “instinctive” after “common”?

There is something very wrong with this person and this particular situation showed it. To attribute “wisdom” to his behavior is beyond the pale. We have had 10 years of his destructive influence and we know full well what he is about.

Those are his limits. If it doesn't have anything to do with making him richer, or making him APPEAR to be rich and powerful, it is completely beyond his abilities to process.

Standing there I caught a whiff of your natural redolence and it took my breath away, but as my head plunged toward the floor it was like a golden crypto-angel put her hand out and cushioned my fall--all because of you. If Biden was still in office I would be dead now."

I was covering a local parade and when Biden was vice president. I fell and cut my chin and started bleeding and needed stitches. He sent his personal physician over to look at me and later they both called me in the emergency room to make sure I was OK, I sent him a picture from the event and he wrote a nice note on it and sent it back. Trump doesn’t care Joe Biden does.

Which is exactly what he didn't do.

And that's IF there isn't an ambulance on 24/7 standby at the Whitest House that could otherwise be summoned.
