"Trump does not have immunity from international prosecution. Nor does ANYONE that participated in these murders."
So everyone involved will now face arrest when they leave the US.

(37,890 posts)The ICC does not forget.
Several prominent Serbs have been imprisoned or are currently in prison at The Hague following convictions for war crimes, including Ratko Mladić, who is serving a life sentence. Other notable figures like Jovica Staniić and Franko Simatović received 15-year sentences after being convicted of training death squads. Radovan Karadić, another former Bosnian Serb leader, was also sentenced to life but has since been transferred to a UK prison.

(2,135 posts)The USA does not recognise the ICC. As long as he stays put he's untouchable.
He can also travel to Russia, Israel, China, Libya and Qatar since they do not recognise the ICC.
Good riddance. Let him go there.
Will he be apprehended if he visits his little Scottish golf clubs? Who knows.

(260 posts)and are taking notes. These crimes will be addressed. Being classified as a "persona non grata" worldwide will put a target on anyone the ICC goes after for "just following orders". That excuse hasn't worked in the past, and hopefully won't again.

When Krasnov runs out of fishing boats to bomb he will get the Senate's permission to indiscriminately murder Americans.

(11,186 posts)But Dear Leader just wants to start a war with Venezuela. Colombia is part of Venezuela, right? Or close enough. And when Dear Leader pacifies the region sufficiently (you know, 10,000 to 100,000 dead, depending on the breaks) maybe he can win next year's Nobel Peace Prize.

(8,773 posts)so it's up to other countries to follow the law and arrest these murders.

(540 posts)Supposedly most of the drugs entering the US are smuggled over the border, not transported in small boats. Plus Trump's border wall is so weak that it is constantly being penetrated and in need of repair.

(73 posts)Trump is now thumbing his nose at being rejected as THE Man of Peace.
"Oh, I'm not good enough for the Peace Prize? Well, how do you like THESE apples?!"
Thumbs up. Thumbs down. Our own "Little Boots" revels in his meting out pardons for criminals and death for innocents.
And we have three-plus more years to find out if he "needs" to go bigger than Fat Man and Little Boy.

(372 posts)time it happens. These people are getting murdered and the media need to stop sugarcoating it. Not once was the word "murder" used by Conway in that post. That needs to change.

(148 posts)These can be used as the basis for raising a case to the International Criminal Court at the Hague and then Trump will obviously pass before facing Justice but Vance, Rubio, Miller, Hegseth and other regime members will face arrest if they ever leave the US. That would be very fitting for them. So hated here that they're living on military bases and can't leave the country either.

(1,765 posts)Google AI Overview:
The U.S. signed the Rome Statute in 2000 but never ratified it and officially withdrew its signature in 2002
Withdrawal: President George W. Bush withdrew the U.S. signature from the treaty in 2002.
The U.S. is not part of the International Criminal Court (ICC) because it fears politically motivated prosecutions of its military and officials, a concern that stems from its opposition to the court's jurisdiction over non-member states, including its own citizens. The U.S. also sought to retain control over its judicial power, was concerned about the prosecutor's authority, and believes it can handle its own military justice cases, particularly after its signature on the Rome Statute was withdrawn in 2002.
Leave it to a Republican to cover the asses of future crimes from his own party.
