NE-02: Nebraska State Sen. John Cavanaugh (D) picks up local union endorsements
OMAHA State Sen. John Cavanaugh picked up two more endorsements from local unions in his bid to be the Democratic nominee in Nebraskas 2nd Congressional District.
The two endorsements came from the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen and the Nebraska State Legislative Board and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. This brings Cavanaughs union endorsements to six.
Cavanaugh is in a six-person Democratic primary race with business owner and political action committee co-founder Denise Powell, Douglas County District Court Clerk Crystal Rhoades, Navy veteran Kishla Askins, former congressional staffer James Leuschen and Evangelos Argyrakis.
The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen chairman, Adam Hausman, said Cavanaugh has consistently stood up for organized labor and advocated for rail safety.
