Trump was crowing that Walmart's Thanksgiving dinner is 25% cheaper than last year. That's a lie.

That's because last years dinner included 21 items and this years only includes 15 items. And some name brand items have been replaced by Walmart store brands.

If Republican lips are moving they are lying.

I have no idea, and I do realize that where Walmart is concerned, there are a lot of turkeys involved, but someone should probably fact the numbers nonetheless.

Walmart intentionally changed the contents of the meal in order to make it cheaper this year. I'm sure someone will compare the price of the exact same package as last year and find that it is more expensive.

Trump touts Walmart's cheaper Thanksgiving meal, downplays missing products
President Trump has been pointing to Walmart's reduced Thanksgiving meal as proof that his economic agenda is driving prices down across the board.

Why it matters: While the meal does cost less at a time when grocery prices are on the rise and millions are uncertain if they'll receive their full November SNAP benefits, the family feast also includes less food.
