Earlier I heard a commentator saying that Trump was doing the same mistake that Biden did which is to deny there is an affordability issue and people are struggling.
I do not recall the Biden administration dismissing the plight of people.
Biden and others were pretty clear that while inflation went down from 9 back to 2.5 , main street was still suffering.
Trump not only reversed the trend of lowering inflation but magnified the issues shifting the burden further to the middle and poorer people to the benefit of his rich friends.

(24,051 posts)that there is a BIG difference between what trump is doing now and what Biden did. Biden NEVER LIED. Trump lies continually saying that prices are down. And his lies are easily disproven. But they think they're found a way to both sider this and they will do it until 2028.

(37,807 posts)Inflation was DOWN. Unemployment was at record lows. The stock market was at record highs.
Then an idiot took a potshot at MFer and almost put a bullet in his head. Big reason we lost.

(37,807 posts)There were many factors.
Trump's dark charisma, Harris' lack of charisma, Trump's incessant 4-year campaign, the Vast RW Media's incessant attacks, the exposure of legacy Media's lost influence, Garland's floundering, the Harris Campaign's inability to formulate a coherent response to the Trans-attack ads, and the flibbertigibbet, memory-of-a-gnat uninformed American Voter.
It matters as an object lesson of how NOT to win.

(7,290 posts)essentially pro-Trump/MAGA arguments, imo.
In that they seek to,
1) normalize what should be outrageous,
2) be dismissive of legitimate concerns,
3) suggest that there ARE no better choices/alternatives.
