Regardless of the short term

"strategy" aspect of Justice Jackson regarding the SNAP funding case people need to keep in mind that even if the court of appeals acts Monday it does not mean that the money will flow. Does anybody think there won't be an appeal to the Supreme Court of that decision as well?

So Crumb The 1st can extort countries for hundreds of billions of dollars but supposedly there isn't $10 billion or so for SNAP? Eloon gets his trillion dollar promise on top of his already near $500 billion dollars and yet he can't find a thin dime for the hungry? The crypto/gypto kings roll with laundering billions/trillions and demand greased skids from the government and yet nobody can come forward for the hungry. The mega corporations like Amazon, Walmart, Exxon, Nvidia, Meta, Google etc. can have their combined wealth but not one can step forward for the starving right now today?

We now see writ large the most glaring example of the horrible situation of wealth/income disparity and unfettered capitalism in our society. The cost to feed the starving until this impasse is gone would be a small fraction of their already enormous amount of money and yet none of these so-called "leaders of industry" has the necessary guts to help the country in this emergency rather than cower with their own stock options, piles of cash and golden parachutes.

Where are the giant ag/food companies like ADM, Tyson, Kroger et al? Where are the giant banks like Chase, Citi, BOA?

The people without food today don't need your "plans for down the road". They need to eat right now today. The inability of these companies and individuals to step forward in a dire emergency for the people of this country shows just how much these so called leaders, owners and decision makers are nothing more than parasites on the body of humanity. Indeed their failure to respond puts them beyond deserving to be called human.

M$M might even do a story or two after awhile, if only to compare to the Great Depression.

Trouble is you such ventures still need capital, location, space, legal talent, food .........

these wealthy fat cats could step up and tell Kroger and the other big chains to keep them supplied and send them the bill. Giving money and/or food donations to food pantries is very easy to do, for those who have resources, and can be done with a phone call or just log in to Amazon and have it delivered. The idea that none of these grossly wealthy people have stepped forward, even if only in their own state or city, is as blatantly uncaring and greedy as it gets.
