Mister We Could Use A Band Like Jefferson Airplane Again!

Last Night Was Jefferson Airplane DvD
The first Real rock band I was introduced to after AM radio at the young age of 12 was Jefferson Airplane.
I was blown away knowing all the lyrics after all these years!

Just look at these lyrics!
Shocking!
Shocking, I tell You!

We can be together
Ah you and me
We should be together

We are all outlaws in the eyes of America
In order to survive we steal,
cheat,
lie,
forge,
fuck,
hide and deal
We are obscene,
lawless,
hideous,
dangerous,
dirty,
violent-
And young

But we should be together
Come on all you people standing around
Our life's too fine to let it die
We can be together

All your private property is target for your enemy
And your enemy
Is we
Da da da da da da da da da
Da da da da da da da da da

We are forces of chaos and anarchy
Everything they say we are
we are
And we are very
Proud of ourselves

Up against the wall
Up against the wall motherfucker!
Tear down the walls
Tear down the walls

Come on now together
Get it on together
Everybody together
We should be together
We should be together my friends
We can be together
We will be

We must begin here and now
A new continent of earth and fire

Tear down the walls
Tear down the walls
Tear down the walls
Tear down the walls
Tear down the walls
Won't you try

Maybe I should be like Archie Bunker and say;
"Mister We Could Use A Band Like Jefferson Airplane Again!"

I saw them at StonyBrook 6 days after Kent State. All of their early albums were great. When there was a real radical left not like the BS we here today.

What an incredible mix!
Put one speaker on one side of the room and the other on the far side and the band is actually in the room with you!
And they had to contend with a crazed republicant President AND Governor!

After that album. Too much drugs, booze, and side projects. They never made another album half as good as Volunteers.

That album, though, is so good.

Tons o’ top stuff, Thirty Seconds Over Winterland featured “Have You Seen the Saucers,” and then they became the Jefferson Starship.

Their first three albums are epic. Then they started to fall apart, but made it in bit and pieces into the 1980s.

David Crosby, for instance…

What a time, where art and ideas and the future were appreciated by most all young people I knew.

Now, I’m old. The same shit stains then are shit stains now, and their kids.

Heard Jorma play it live on the DvD last night!
He did one equally as good with Jack as Hot Tuna called Mann's Fate

Every song is a standout, but Mann's Fate has that exquisite ending riff...
