The republicans will never agree to do ANYTHING to reopen the government because: Epstein Files

No matter what the Dems attempt to do to get government operating again, the republicans dare not agree….on anything. The horror on the immediate horizon is elements of those Epstein files that will destroy the future of conservatives across the board…including, especially, the orange anus.

No medical care for families, no food for hungry children, and no air travel for distant relatives to use for Thanksgiving and probably Christmas travel. They don’t care about regular people because they only care for themselves. The nation can go suck wind.

The nation is clearly caught in an untenable situation where the regular people will suffer immense and grievous harm all because an aging kiddie diddler terrifies the Republican house and senate. Trump has even declared himself the real “Speaker of the House”. No one, especially the republicans, trust him to keep any agreement or promise he puts forth.

The offer presented by the Dems was totally reasonable and yet scorned and vilified as if they were being asked to dance naked in trump’s golden ballroom. The only thing the dems asked was that medical coverage continue for one more year as it has for the past few years. Oh horrors, underprivileged children would get to see a doctor for another year, my god what would we become if we allowed that to occur.

So no food, no medical care and no air travel. These along with the other consequences yet to be determined, unpaid military people, national parks and essential services and systems going improperly managed. All to protect that monstrous orange anus.

Merry Christmas all….next he will have Santa deported because he doesn’t have a license to drive a sleigh.

It'll take one call, when the rubber hits the road, to "turn" one of the Repuq's currently on our side. GQP control the vote outcome, really, Grijalva voting or not. And Trump also controls Bondi, AND SCOTUS.

IMHO believing hiding Epstein files is even in the top 3 of calculations in Trump/GQP hivemind is falling for misdirection away from even MORE evil intentions. Trump wants to see how long Johnson can get away with not seating her, seeing what happens, in the court, and the court of public opinion. Just as a for-instance.

The Andrew formerly known as Prince is the first domino to fall. Information is leaking out and being uncovered from sources outside the DOJ's bunker.

And he is due to testify before congress, without any pardon to seek.

repost:

Mike and company will prolong it forever.
TO PROTECT THE PEDOPHILES.

I propose an independent/international SEPARATE inquiry into "Everything Epstein" because

• The DOJ trove will NEVER be released, and
• There should be sufficient independent evidence uncovered to trash the major players.
-- The bit players will fall down as a consequence.

Hakeem Jeffries Says Trump Is Running “Pedophile Protection Program”
https://newrepublic.com/post/202623/hakeem-jeffries-trump-johnson-republicans-pedophile-protection-program

When asked by a reporter about working with someone who has been obstructing the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, Jeffries said that “the Trump administration and Mike Johnson are running a pedophile protection program.”

“That’s what they’ve been doing. And that’s the reason why they refuse to swear in Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva, for weeks now,” Jeffries added, referring to the congresswoman who won a special election on September 23 to replace her late father, Representative Raúl Grijalva. “She was elected in late September decisively.”

Jeffries said that Grijalva hasn’t been sworn in by House Speaker Johnson because she would be the deciding vote on legislation requiring the Department of Justice to release the Epstein files.

“Week after week after week have gone by, and Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva is unable to serve 800,000 people in the state of Arizona all because of the pedophile protection program being run by Mike Johnson and House Republicans at the direction of their boss, Donald J. Trump,” Jeffries added.

An ashen-faced Trump has to look away.

It must be tough for him to look in the mirror each day.
And see the reflection of his former partner.

Mikey reputedly has put in a call to Ghostbusters.

House before next year's elections, or maybe before the 2028 elections if the Republicans can gerrymander and disenfranchise their way to keeping control next year?

It seems wildly unlikely. But so did Nixon tanking the Paris Peace Talks to win the election, Reagan telling the Iranians to keep the US hostages until he was inaugurated, Bush the First pardoning the Iran contra felons on Christmas, the supremacist court halting a presidential election to ensure that the Republican candidate won, the Senate majority leader refusing to give "advice and consent" to a supreme court nominee because the president was from a different party, a president fomenting a coup then being re-elected and then pardoning the rioters.

At this point about the only thing that I'm willing to rule out in US politics is space aliens landing on whatever is left of the Whitehouse lawn and installing a Sasquatch as our leader. Which is a shame, because it would be a distinct improvement.

Theoretically, he may be able to avoid reconvening the House through the end of 2026. But all Congressional Reps terms end at the end of that year. Even those people who get reelected to their seat have to be sworn back in for their new term. See the 4:00 mark of this video:

I’m only half joking. Civics as we know it isn’t the same. I think you’re right and it would be absolutely crazy for this to extend past the new year, but I’m being careful to not make definitive statements about the future after witnessing the erosion of the rule of law in the last few years.

There is zero chance of the Epstein files being forced to be released just because the government is reopened. It's true, if the House went back in session, they would likely fairly quickly pass the bill to release the Epstein files. But it would still have to be passed by the Senate (possible but unlikely) and then signed by Trump (not a chance in Hell) before it would become law and actually require the files to be released.

There is almost a zero chance for the reasons you put forward, but no reason to say someone’s ideas are ridiculous. Your points are salient, so why the totally dismissive language. There may be ways to circumvent Trump’s veto, at least for some of the files. They could subpoena them, although this DOJ would most likely ignore. There’s a non zero chance that Trump is either impeached or otherwise incapacitated. There’s is also a non zero chance that the files are “cleaned” or redacted to the point that the Republicans have no reason to fear their release. We don’t always have to talk about the probable.
