Donald Trump over the weekend was met with ridicule after he unleashed a major plan that he said will provide a multibillion dollar payout directly to Americans as an alternative to funding government health care subsidies that have divided lawmakers amid the ongoing government shutdown.
I am recommending to Senate Republicans that the Hundreds of Billions of Dollars currently being sent to money sucking Insurance Companies in order to save the bad Healthcare provided by ObamaCare, BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE SO THAT THEY CAN PURCHASE THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER, HEALTHCARE, and have money left over, Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
But the plan didn't go over well with some experts, including economist Justin Wolfers, who chimed in with, "Econ 101 midterm question: Based on what you know about risk pools and adverse selection in healthcare markets, will giving people money instead of giving them money to buy health insurance lead these markets to function more effectively, or will it just lead more people to be uninsured?"

Well when you get busted for fraud and convicted on 34 counts.............lets try to pull something like this........maybe he can name a ballroom after the health care industry with a billboard on the front lawn of the white house.........where the missing the We the Peoples East Room use to be.....................he really is a leech..............

(4,520 posts)I have had a heart attack and spinal surgery ... complications and short hospital stays, one for several pulmonary embolisms after surgery. So now I am being considered for testing for an inherited clotting disorder.
I don't think I would fare well with private insurance considering they are now preexisting conditions.
They pay minimally for my therapy for PTSD and CPTSD.
I would have to pay out of pocket for physical therapy.
I'm retired on a fixed income, fortunately with a nice retirement account.
Sheesh.
I'd have to sell my house.

(76,293 posts)* From the beginning, it was said he never thought he would win, and people who knew him said he really didn't want it.
* His whole, strange (in politics) "strategy" was to insult & alienate whole blocks of voters instead of trying to win them over - ethnics, veterans, vulnerable/impaired, and more.
* Once inside, about the only thing he has ever learned was about the vast potential for exploiting government for enriching himself, plus seeing everything through real estate eyes.
* Now, despite being in the middle of disastrous international and domestic situations he mostly created, he has somehow devoted himself (besides golf) to acting like property projects (demolishing, decorating, pie arches) are what he really wants to be doing. He's already scoped out places for beachfront developments - Gaza, N. Korea.
* He keeps pushing outlandish boundaries, as if he's begging to be kicked out so he can do what he really wants to do.
