Blackmail is power. Open the files, and they lose a whole lot of leverage over others.

3. Also, he inherited his billions by being an heir to Andrew Mellon, founder of Mellon Bank.

To be clear, this is completely speculation - there is no proof of a direct connection between Timothy Mellon & Epstein. But there is a direct connection between Mellon Bank, from which he inherited his fortune, which years ago merged with the Bank of New York to form BNY Mellon and Epstein. And Timothy Mellon and his family are just generally horrible, despicable people.

One of Pittsburgh's corporate titans is facing a lawsuit over its ties to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

The class action lawsuit was filed Wednesday by one of Epstein's victims, who is identified only as Jane Doe.

The lawsuit says BNY played a key role in financing Epstein's sexual trafficking enterprise before he died by an apparent suicide in 2019 in a New York jail.

"BNY for years processed $378 million in payments to women trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein," the complaint says. "BNY had a plethora of information regarding Epstein's sex trafficking operation but chose profit over protecting the victims."

which is the largest private humanities funder in the nation. Diversity is a core value of the foundation. Somewhere along the line, there was a decent Mellon.

ETA: The Foundation was set up by Andrew Mellon’s children.
