CNN is the HOME of "whataboutism," the HOME of giving Republicans "the benefit of doubt," the HOME of inviting Republicans on to recite the current Republican talking points, unchallenged.
This headline is on CNN's Home Page: Images of Trump appearing to close his eyes during Oval Office event spread across social media

Trump did not "APPEAR TO CLOSE HIS EYES." He CLOSED them, and took a nice nap, for 20 minutes.
I have posted this many times, but the "shot-callers" at CNN are Warner Discovery CEO David Zaslav and his boy pal John Malone. Both are right-wing billionaires who deliberately steered CNN into the realm of "FOX "NEWS" LITE."

(20,814 posts)...yesterday the top 1/4 of the screen was taken uo by a video of Candace Owens spouting Charlie Kirk conspiracy theories.
I have not actually watched CNN since the 2024 election.
The two dudes at the top know what they want, and they have the juice to get it. I struggle to understand who CNN's audience is. Not liberal enough for liberals, not MAGAt enough for MAGAts.

If I were so feeble that I fell asleep during a meeting with my boss, they wouldn't say "Orrex took a nap."

(2,463 posts)That is a FACT that everybody seems to overlook. Trump was literally a product of the media through The Apprentice, when Zucker headed NBC, through and beyond his presidential candidacy and disastrous non-consecutive terms. The blame rests SOLELY on CNN and Zucker for taking a very serious thing, the presidency, and turning into a "reality TV show." There was NO movement behind Trump, a joke candidate along the lines of Pat Paulsen in 1968, UNTIL Zucker and CNN gave Trump unlimited airtime, thus denying the opportunity for far more qualified GOP candidates to get their messages across during the 2016 campaign.
It was ALL CNN. Fox and the rest of them piggybacked later.
Zucker has a LOT to answer for. So does CNN.
