Trump weighs giving Americans $2,000 from tariff revenues in bid for support

Except like every other American I'm still waiting for my DOGE dividend, and stimulus check that President Trump discussed earlier in 2025

WTF happened to that promise.

Donald Trump on Sunday mused about giving most Americans $2,000 funded by tariff revenues collected by the president’s administration – an evident bid to rally public support on the issue.

“A dividend of at least $2000 a person (not including high income people!) will be paid to everyone,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform on Sunday.

The post also made it a point to call people against tariffs “FOOLS!”

Let's say, for the sake of argument, that half of all Americans are eligible for these imaginary "tariff checks" - that would be $342 billion paid to 171 million Americans.

Sure.

Dear President Trump:
I thank you for sending me a check for $2000 per person living in my home as a tariff rebate. Since I am married and have three children, I received a check for $10,000.

I can also spot a bribe when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now. Because I make good money I don't really need this to get by, so...

You will be pleased to know that I used the check to make $2500 donations to the reelection campaigns of Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib. I am aware that you totally love all four of these fine representatives and the work they are doing.

This is why we have to win elections. I'll take my check, but if the Supreme Court invalidates the tariffs, I might have to give the money back.

...that's $690 billion.
His own people are claiming only $195 billion for 2025. He still believes in his delusional "trillions".
Another $500 billion hole in the budget?

"He mooted the idea, and is to moot is to promise!"

No, not it isn't. "Hey, maybe if we can swing it, we can go to Kauai next summer."

I lose my job. No Kauai. "You promised!"

Yeah, ignore the front matter, the logical contingency, "IF ..."

Hey, what's said is shit, what's heard or believed to be heard is gold.

And that's also granting extreme privilege. To which I say, "you can't talk reasonably, you can't talk, so stop your mewling."
