(3,982 posts)I hate the consistency of those who tend toward disappointing us.
I was doing a blue tsunami dance only five days ago.

(3,982 posts)There was clear momentum. All "we" had to do was take advantage of it.
I also suggested a paradigm shift...as in a shift to leadership that better meets the moment.

(3,982 posts)He is creative and willing to take on a fight. He thinks outside the box.
I want to see him as Leader of the Dems in the Senate.
I have a different favorite for Prez in 2028...but right now I am focused on the urgency of this year...and SAVING DEMOCRACY!

(16,762 posts)but the proof is in the pudding, Sen. Schumer capitulated, there's really no other term to describe this betrayal of the Sen. Dems.
Sen. Schumer may have voted no, but the only reason he did is because he knew he had the votes to cave, but make no mistake, he caved to the repigs.
I'll always vote Dem, but I'm now holding my generous contributions to the national Dems, for progressive candidates only.
I predict a red wave in 2026 and 2028 because of this betrayal to the Democratic Party.
This Liberal, yes, proud Liberal, is pissed off at this betrayal of Democratic Party principles.
This is a clear case of snatching defeat from the Jaws of Victory.

(16,762 posts)This is going resonate in the 2026 mid terms, loyal Dems, like myself, are going to remember this betrayal and vote accordingly.
Please, don't get me wrong, but I will vote for those that opposed this betrayal and we won't forget.

(22,737 posts)I am so tired of Democrats rolling over in the face of evil.
Ever since the losses in 1984, all we ever do is apologize for our stances.
We need new leadership that can face the challenges before us.

(236 posts)on John Stewart when he asked - i regards to the election victories of the past week - how can the Dems mess this up? Exhibit A. Never surrender to bullies; our folks set our cause back substantially today. How long till we see the Trump/Republicon ads trumpeting how we caved. And do NOT lecture me on how we had to "take the high road" and "be the adults in the room. "
