where he said something to the effect “how will Dems squander this amazing victory” - and of course 98% of the comments were basically “fuck him, he’s dead to me” - is all I can think about. It took a mere few days.

Let's see those "Stewart is a turncoat" types defend their misdirected anger at a man who is a longtime ally to the Dems -- his only "crime" being that he just happens to voice his valid criticism.

fucked us and didn't even use lotion.
He may have voted no, but make no mistake, he already knew he had the votes to pass this CR, so he could confidently vote no knowing that his vote would not count.

Time for Chucky to retire and let someone who's in tune with the American people to take the reins and fight for the principles of this country.

If they weren’t going to fight til the end, they’ve caused weeks of anguish and hardship for nothing.

I’m furious and disgusted at them now for the shutdown and I’m a hardcore Dem.

Many federal workers, soldiers and their families have been in food lines for weeks. For nothing.

And this is literally the death knell of the ACA.

Millions of people will leave the marketplace effectively destroying it. The only way the ACA works is if there’s a large pool of people participating.

The reasons for doing the shutdown are contradictory and nonsensical in light of the capitulation; claiming they won something on health care when they didn't; saying they won things that were already law.

Why, as a loyal progressive Democrat, should I vote if my Party constantly kowtows to the repigs when the going gets tough?
I suspect that a lot of Dems are questioning why we support only to get fucked in the end.

Didn’t even last a week.

And with that, all excitement for 2026 is deflated. Good luck to the leadership telling the base they’re fighting Trump. Trump can claim to be the best and toughest negotiator.

Easy to claim when the likes of Schumer are your opponent. Lol

19. Johnson will not let the House vote on this.
Sun Nov 9, 2025, 11:52 PM

Senate Democrats are caving on the shutdown.

The broad framework for agreement, which was negotiated in part by Sens. Angus King, Jeanne Shaheen, and Maggie Hassan, as well as GOP senators, has “more than enough” members of the Senate Democratic Caucus to advance, according to two people granted anonymity to disclose the terms,” Politico reported.

In exchange for their votes, these handful of “moderate” Democrats—which notably does not include Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer—are getting nothing.

Well, that’s not true.

They’re getting a promise of a vote on ACA subsidies in the Senate, which will easily go down in defeat. Not to mention, Speaker Mike Johnson has said he’ll never even bring the matter up for a vote in the House.

That’s what he has over us, his willingness to let others suffer and die to get what he wants. I’m not happy about the deal, but I’m not a parent who is wondering how I’m going to feed my kids if the orange shitstain doesn’t release the hold on SNAP benefits. I’m pretty pissed off, but what I’m mostly pissed about is that it came to this. The entire republican caucus, including Moses Mike, is willing to put people in existential danger just to force their agenda.

This is actually the messaging that dems need to go with, loud and clear. Trump was going to let Americans starve, he didn’t care. Dems took a black eye so that Americans could put food on the table.
