Republicans won tonight. This isn’t checkmate—there are no moves left on the board right now.
Still, about ten Democratic senators, governors, and congressional members stood tall. I thank them deeply. 💙💙💙

But eight others turned their backs. They know there will be no ACA deal in December or January. Their vote shifted the pressure off TACO and Republican-led states. Democrats were winning the public narrative around the shutdown—until now.
That vote handed Republicans a clear win. And they won’t waste time. Project 2025 and the machinery behind this authoritarian push will accelerate.
And now? The GOP knows exactly who they can pressure, flatter, or buy. There have always been politicians willing to trade integrity for influence. That hasn’t changed.

So what do we do?
We organize. Locally. Fiercely. With heart. Join groups like No Kings, Indivisible, 50501—there are many more. Find your people. Build together.
This is a generational struggle. We’ve lost a major battle, and we won’t know the full cost for months.
Teach your children. Talk to your neighbors. Share what’s happening.
We don’t get to surrender. We stand where we are. Peacefully. Nonviolently. With the First Amendment as long as it’s ours to use.
