Trump "won' this shit by withholding food stamps

For poor people. That's the sad goddamn fact of the matter.
Folks it doesn't get much worse than this.
And you know that there isn't going to be any good faith when it comes to the ACA.
The priorities in this stupid miserable place are ICE and tax cuts for billionaires.

Don't count on that $2k either. It's not coming until right before the 2026 election if at all.

But my guess is that the courts would drag this out for months and it would end up back at the supreme court and that would be the end of snap.

Because this wasn't about SNAP or federal employees and the military not being paid. It was about what the corporate donors wanted.

if they knew they didn't have the fortitude to take a beating. If they were always going to tap out, what was the point of standing there and taking the first few punches?

Insane and willing to burn the whole place down. There is every indication of that. The appeal to the supreme court about snap shows they fucking don't care. This wasn't a win. It was a sour bitter ordeal that will only get worse. They are utterly insane.

If you're going to take the deal anyway, why allow ATC dysfunction and distress for those anxious about their nutrition benefits?

Dems have given up the power of the majority while in the minority. If the situation is reversed in the future, the GOP has a playbook.

from their constituents. That's why they caved. They got paid $$$ and the corporate Dems don't give a shit about us at all.

I just read a post by Ezra Levin (Indivisible's founder) and he can't believe it. I don't have social media so I can't post it, it's on Instagram.

I have the feeling there will be more protests and hopefully successful boycotts.

I get the impression the echelon of both parties are resigned to the herd (populace) is getting culled one way or the other and not to fight it.

Time for a general strike?

We keep missing the opportunities that come along, this is one of them. Many are already out of work, unable to find other work that will pay their bills and most of us are pissed so it's a good time to tell the oligarchs, "fuck you, we won't be supplying you with our unappreciated labor" until they are shaken from their ivory towers.

If they are screaming about canceled flights now, just imagine when the service industry revolts.

Maybe Trump got what he wanted but if the polling coming out of the shutdown favors Democrats did he really win?
