There was a man a very well off and educated man there were two men that helped and stood along side that man
when he gave his first speech to the nation that was and had been basically ravaged by greed from the previous administration and Wall Street.
This man had polio that he had contacted when he went to a Boy Scout Jamboree at Bear Mountain in 1921 when he went into a lake water that was contaminated.
He had to use braces, and crutches and a wheel chair to get around. But he had two men that helped him to that podium: James Roosevelt his son, and
his aide, "Pa" Watson.
Roosevelt took 37 paces to that podium.................and said this ...............
"So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is...fear itself nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life, a leadership of frankness and of vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory. And I am convinced that you will again give that support to leadership in these critical days.
Some have forgotten that message.................in my opinion..............
