It will be too late then.
But this is predictable M.O. We organize, march, protest for a year, trying to rebuild momentum after having a presidential election stolen from us, or at the very least, manipulated from us, and that finally shows up in a tanking job approval rating for this incompetent boob of a president. Then, we get some real momentum in some of the most sweeping election results we've seen, especially in off year elections, with major gains being made among some of the demographics that voted for Trump or stayed home in 2024.
And then, boom. Eight Democratic Senators pull out a needle and pop the momentum balloon.
I'm done. I'm glad I cancelled my monthly contribution to the DNC last January. That contribution now goes to David Hogg's "Leaders We Deserve." If we are interested in making sure the disaster Trump is bringing down on this country doesn't ever happen again, then we need leadership who understands that the way we are now doing business is how we got here in the first place.

(6,842 posts)I'm not coming back. I'm 68, and I'm resigned to living under a fascist dictatorship as best I can in the few years I have left. Why should I care if there's not going to be viable partisan opposition?

(3,144 posts)Not suited to deal with today's political climate. We can't keep having elected Democrats try to come to bipartisan agreements with bad faith actors and we can't keep trying to meet in the middle with people who continue to step further away. The Democratic party needs reformed through primaries or whatever or else we will not be waiting a generation, but more like generations.

(6,842 posts)it's time to clean house. I sent my Senator, Dick Durbin, an email requesting that he resign to allow our governor to appoint a Democrat who will stand up for us. Regrettably, after all his years of service, he leaves after some very disappointing cave-ins to the Republican will.
