(2,071 posts)Starting Nov. 16th, two hours each night through that Friday. I think The Civil War was shown the same way, and it was very successful.
In my area it starts at 8pm and that episode repeats at 10pm and 4am.

Near the bottom of the PBS link is a note that it will be viewable through the PBS app. The app is free but I don't know if the show will be too - I hope so, since if it was on TV it would be free.

(3,989 posts)He appeared briefly in the film "Gettysburg", as an aide to General Hancock, who mounted his horse and rode along his lines during the tremendous Confederate cannonade against the Union center just prior to 'Picket's charge' on the last day of the battle, for the purpose of bolstering the morale of his troops who were the main target of that artillery barrage---
(I recognized him immediately because I was also seeing a videotape about 'the making of "Gettysburg" in which he was prominently featured)
AI: Yes, filmmaker Ken Burns made a cameo appearance in the film Gettysburg as an aide to General Hancock, the soldier who tells Hancock,
"Please, sir, you must get down. We cannot spare you"---
to which Hancock replied, in what I consider one of the greatest lines in that film,
"There are times when a Corps commander's life does not count." !!!
Still one of my favorite movies, and the best I can think of
which were about the Civil war--- my favorite part still being Jeff Daniels' portrayal of
Colonel Chamberlain and the 2nd Maine's defense of Little Round Top,
for which Chamberlain later won the 'Medal of Honor'
