A Way Forward After the 8 Democratic Capitulators

On January 5, 2026, a major Democratic Press Conference should be held to announce "Project 2029": a specfic set of policy goals, no merely to refute Project 2025, but to announce after 40 years of Conservative ruin, its time to focus shelping hard working, Middle Class Americans who have been screwed by the right. Unlike the secretive Project 2025, Democrats state what the party stands for in the open.

Ideas might include:

* Tax Hikes on the Upper 1% because its time for them to pay their fair share.
* Term limits or additional justices to the Supreme Court
* Healthcare reforms to a broken system that will cover ALL Americans
* An acutal livable minimum wage
* Securing the right to vote for EVERY American
* Bringiing back tye fairness doctrine.
* Sensible Gun Regulations

"PROJECT 2029 BEGINS WHEN WE CAPTURE BOTH HOUSES of CONGRESS IN THE 2026 MID-TERMS!"

If the above ideas are too radical, then maybe the detractors shouldn't be in the Democratic Party.

Other ideas for Project 2029?

We need a party that attracts folks because our leaders fight for them. Also, this is about saving the ACA. Indivisable.org ( no kings) has a plan. I previously post the link.

I just don’t like the name. It shouldn’t be associated with the nightmare Project 2025. Perhaps Agenda 2029

5. The group indivisable is working a primary effort

This is in response to the what I consider betrayal by eight senators and Schumer who prending not to be involved. They are essentially destroying the ACA.

Indivisable will recruit and fund good candidates.If we win our primary effort we vote Democratic/ if we lose our primary effort we vote Democratic The big picture is to stop the Republicans and save our Republic. Thus we vote for all Democrats period. We can join this organization. The work is done in small groups. The Mississippi effort that netted two state seats and ended a veto proof majority is one of their many successes. This is not about right or left. This is about strong leaders who will fight for us and a party that can attract the disillusioned… many who believe everything is politics and that no one is looking out for them. We need new leadership while trouncing Republicans at the same time. This is our path forward Fired up and ready to go.

7. Should have been done decades ago...

“In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all regardless of station, race, or creed.
Among these are:
The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the Nation;
The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;
The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;
The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;
The right of every family to a decent home;
The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;
The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;
The right to a good education.
All of these rights spell security. And after this war is won we must be prepared to move forward, in the implementation of these rights, to new goals of human happiness and well-being.
America’s own rightful place in the world depends in large part upon how fully these and similar rights have been carried into practice for our citizens. For unless there is security here at home there cannot be lasting peace in the world.”

9. None of the items on your list can happen without killing the filibuster and expanding the court.

Those two actions are the foundation which permits the restoration of democracy, protection of rights and liberties, and passage of laws the benefit the people and show that Dems can govern effectively.

Otherwise, even with majorities in both chambers and retaking the WH in 2029, any attempt at passing laws or exercising executive power would either be blocked or overturned.

Remember, Project 2025 was not written by the Republican Party, it was written by a conservative think tank, and then adopted by the Trump administration via the hiring of Russ Vought and other cabinet members. The RNC nor GOP caucus was not consulted.

I’m not sure it is strategically advantageous for the DNC to draft a Project 2029, which uses the framing of the conservatives, especially when Dems don’t even have the unity to sustain a shut down.

As 2026 unfolds, I think the economy, healthcare and the loss of rights and freedoms will emerge as the dominant issues on voters minds. Rather than campaigning on a laundry list of poll-tested topics, I think Dems should tap into the widespread misery, despair and anger that exists among the people, and use that emotional energy to their advantage.

But above all, the litmus test for all Dem senate candidates must be a willingness to kill the filibuster and expand the court once there is a Dem president. They don’t have to campaign on those positions, but they must show the will and the courage to govern fearlessly and unhesitatingly once in power.

10. The only thing I disagree with is bringing back the Fairness Doctrine,

it wouldn't apply to cable, satellite or the internet and would almost certainly be struck down before the ink even dried, FCC has no content authority over those venues, hell, a license isn't even required on those venues, FCC licenses are only required for over the air broadcasts, which are considered public airways, whereas cable, satellite and internet don't use public airways, these are privately owned and one has to pay a fee for access.

Other than that, that is a great list.
