Can someone explain why suddenly all these Epstein emails are now avaiilable? I must be missing something.

To epsteins estate. These emails did not come from the DOJ.
Edited to add: all of files released today came from epstein estate according to Chris Hays MSNBC

The Epstein estate began responding to the House Oversight Committee's subpoena by providing initial documents around September 8, 2025, the date specified as the deadline for initial compliance. The estate has continued to provide tranches of documents since, including a large production of over 23,000 pages in November 2025.

And more is to come. The estate has been subpoenaed by a house committee.

That email exchange -- which came just weeks after a British newspaper published a series of stories about Epstein, Maxwell and their powerful associates -- was one of three released by the Democrats from a batch of more than 23,000 documents the committee recently received from the Epstein Estate in response to a subpoena.
