Battles For Pokrovsk

Pokrovsk is a small town key to the Donetsk region, it is the hub for Russian supplies and reinforcements.

I read 3 weeks ago that Putin had sent 160,000 troops to capture Pokrovsk, today Russians are entrenched in the southern section of Pokrovsk while Ukrainian troops control the north. It is mind boggling how Russian troops march across open fields in broad daylight to be slaughtered by Ukraine. I have read reports that 50,000 Russian troops have been killed or wounded. Russia is using the strategy of leaving the dead on the battlefield and informing the families that their sons are AWOL, this gets Putin out of having to pay death benefits.

Fighting is ongoing inside the town where Ukrainians are trying to oust Russians. Russia even used propaganda last week to claim it had captured Pokrovsk, which is not true, fighting continues.

This is a huge battle which is key to gaining control of Donetsk.
