WALK FOR PEACE: Buddhist Monks walking 2300 miles

I thought I’d bring this to everyone’s attention since this gives me such hope. I hope it will provide you with the same feelings.

The Monks left Fort Worth Texas (my hometown) and are traveling to various state capitols and Walking for Peace. On their way to Houston a truck accidentally rammed into the lead car that hit several Monks, in which one Monk decided to have his leg amputated instead of continuous surgeries. He is recovering and no longer in the hospital.

The other Monks continue their journey along with their companion Aloka the dog from India. Aloka was a stray dog and joined the Monks as they traveled through India. Now Aloka travels across the southern states.

The hopefulness as I watch their daily journey, I’m amazed by people of all walks of life are coming out in support of the Monks and their message of Peace. I am so grateful that the Monks are receiving such love from the communities they are traveling through.

They are currently in Georgia.

Every day write on a piece of paper “Today will be my Peaceful Day”

I’m glad I’m not the only one here who has been keeping up with the Monks daily travels.

Everyday tracking their journey makes one hopeful seeing how many people are supporting the Monks message.

I can’t wait to visit the Fort Worth Temple when they get back from DC.

I also hope they can receive the funds to build the Stupas here in Fort Worth. 14 acres dedicated to the Buddah’s teachings.

As a side note: the Stupas will be just south of Rosehill Cemetery where Lee Harvey Oswald’s is buried. We used to visit his grave on several occasions nothing special about it other than it was vandalize several times over the years.
