Video review and excerpt from promo material. My thanks to SheltieLover for pointing this out.

The greatest features of the value of a Honda SDV as a space for peoples mobility is the fact that the more the user drives it, the more the vehicle advances to achieve the ultra-personal optimization. The AI accumulates a history of what the occupants have selected in various situations and, just like a smartphones predictive texting feature, the vehicle will make predictive suggestions. The more history the Honda SDV accumulates, in other words, the more the customer uses their vehicle, the better suggestions the vehicle will offer tailored to the preferences of the user. Honda SDVs will eventually grow to be a partner that understands the user the most and supports comfortable and convenient daily use of the vehicle.

(25,474 posts)AI's kind of like a capstone project for society, it's going to cost us more than money and it's already taking down payments.

(60,039 posts)much of society or shows off the skills of AI users. Generative AI is the theft of the world's knowledge and culture for the profit and power of the AI companies and those who control/own them.
It's not only the most harmful non-weapon tech ever developed, it's the stupidest because of those harms.
It's a bad trip into a tech dystopia.
And if you could go back in time even 10 years to a science fiction convention and tried to.explain to the SF writers there that the most-hyped tech in a decade would be AI that always hallucinated so its results always had to be checked, and that worked even some of the time only because of the ripoff of the world's intellectual property, they'd have a hard time believing it would ever be popular (and the IP theft really wouldn't go over well).
The biggest "accomplishment" of AI bros like Sam Altman has been conning too many people into.thinking it's a great product.

(25,474 posts)Agree with you about "generative AI" being, in itself, an unhelpful theft of culture. Currently, what we see of it cannot be trusted. However, I would note that what the public is allowed by host foundations to see and use is largely smokescreens and hogwash, it's major use beyond concept normalization is to create training data for expert systems and test vectors for better AIs that people aren't seeing yet outside of particular niche products, like SDVs. Much of the "real" AI work continues along these lines, while humanity at large is given access to the lightweight sloppifiers for farting-around purposes -- as you say, "conning too many people into thinking it's a great product."

(60,039 posts)I noticed another post of yours seemed to suggest you felt there were too many posts about AI in LBN: https://www.democraticunderground.com/100220902313#post10
You will see a lot of threads about AI here, including in LBN, because the AI bros and companies are a threat, just as Trump and Musk (also mentioned in that thread) are. There was another strong reminder of that yesterday: https://www.democraticunderground.com/10143591926
Is your generative AI (gAI) obsession pro or con? I don't think I've seen anyone else here with AI in their user name.

To say nothing of final nails in the global warming coffin.
Oh, and a useless digital thing that lets you car talk to your toaster and which will be expensive to fix when it fails.
