The owner of the the Patriots is a trumper. The owner of the Seahawks supports the Dems. We are at war. A lot of folks don't realize how serious things really are now.

(242 posts)I am of course rooting for the Seahawks to win. However, if I was not a fan of the Steelers, I would still support the Seahawks because of the reasons you stated. GO SEAHAWKS!!!!

(11,548 posts)I wish I gave a crap about sports, but I don't. In any case, the Puppy Bowl is just too damn good, it should get aired on its own, not tied to the Superbowl.

(5,727 posts)Between the Red Sox and Bellichek and Brady and Kraft, just nope. I'll never forget what an asshole Bellichek was when the Giants won the Superbowl. So go Seahawks.

(7,150 posts)And grew up (and still am) a die-hard Giants and Yankees fan.
But as a youth, I started playing ice hockey, and fell in love with Bobby Orr and the Boston Bruins.
I've been a life-long Bruins fan since the 60's.
A dichotomy? A paradox? Absolutely. But I only claim to be 100x more intelligent than Dotard, so there's that......

Still wish they could bring the Supersonics back.

(307 posts)I want to watch the Seahawks clobber the Patriots; I want to watch the Puppy Bowl; but more than either of those I want to watch the Olympics.

(28,898 posts)...that we had no idea who is playing in the Super Bowl -
We like to say that we watch real football, aka soccer, where the players actually use their feet to move the ball for most of the game. My husband says American football should be called "passball."
And, there's pretty much non-stop action in a soccer game. In a 3 hours NFL broadcast, it's been determined that the ball is actually in play for about 12 minutes.
The ice dancing has been exquisite. I enjoyed it so much in real time this afternoon that I am watching it again this evening.

(65,974 posts)Interesting not meaning good, necessarily. I honestly spent like 5 minutes (all it was really worth to me) to find donations either directed by her as fiduciary of his estate, or from herself individually to the dem party and didn't find much, at least not recently. I'll take your word for it though.
But hey, if/when the Seahawks win the Super Bowl and go up for sale, the new shitty billionaire owner(s) will have that going for him/her/them.

(143 posts)I've been a fan of the Patriots since 1984 and continue to be and will not stop being one. I understand and respect your reasoning as I extremely dislike the Krafts.
Yet I still remain a Patriots fan. They've been horrible since Brady left. Still I supported the Patriots.
I'm already thrilled with their season win or lose the SB. I would've been thrilled with them going 9-8. They had the easiest schedule of any team in 35 years. Still I support the Patriots.
They have the most wins in SB history. Still I supported them between 1984-1999 when they only had 2 decent seasons.
Robert Kraft is a scumbag. I will still support the Patriots going forward.
Wiz Imp
(9,285 posts)(and the Steelers got to 6 wins first). For the record, the Patriots are also tied for the most Super Bowl losses (5, tied with Denver).
IzzaNuDay
(1,261 posts)this is a redemption game for the Seahawks, back to SB49 and that awful play call at the 1 yard line, resulting in the Pats win. Some Seattle fans are still traumatized by that play.
MorbidButterflyTat
(4,297 posts)rather than have Marshawn Lynch run it in must haunt them.
Tied for 1st is still first

(3,563 posts)I hope the Seahawks win. I most likely will not be watching the game, but I really, really hope the Seahawks win.

(1,525 posts)I'd wager most owners are problematic to an extent. Jody Allen for example has multiple allegations of sexual harassment and stealing cultural items. Robert Kraft donates to Trump and got busted in sex traffic massage parlors. Multiple owners have strong ties to Epstein, the guy from Carolina dumped a drink on a fan, one of the guys who owns the Jets was Trump's ambassador to someplace. Kind of hard to be a billionaire and not have done some sketchy stuff. Not saying it's not possible, but it's hard.

(40,730 posts)I'm a diehard Steelers fan and I'd kind of lost interest once they were out of the playoffs. (It happened early too.) But the Seahawks are classy, unlike the Patriots.
RANDYWILDMAN
(3,138 posts)I will never support them, they have ruined the Blazers will their meddling for 30 years!!!!! They couldn't pick a good player if David Stern or Adam Silver told them exactly who to pick
Go Niners and I hope for a 0-0 game so nobody enjoys themselves
I am rooting for Bad Bunny to be the greatest halftime show ever and everybody leaves after he performs
The Nfl owners are all in the same club and they all make and share their money in the form of that dreaded billionaire style socialism

(2,242 posts)...to the point where when Bob Kraft got arrested for contributing to prostitution, Epstein was suggesting Kraft use Epstein's lawyer.
Of course, nothing happened to Kraft, the sleazeball.

(20,636 posts)Kraft is a registered democrat who donated heavily for Obama both times.
It appears since he had been good friends with Trump in the '90s, he donated to his campaign. He claims he hasn't spoken to him since J6, but that's specious given Trump hand picked his wife to sit on the T̷r̷u̷m̷p̷ Kennedy Center.

(9,457 posts)My fandom is based on where I lived most of my life (Jersey) and that won't change because of an Epstein-related owner or a dismal record over the last dozen plus years. I'll have a mild preference for the Seahawks because I'm rooting for a Darnold rehabilitation story and I have a lingering resentment of all the GOAT-slobbering over Tom (right time, right place) Brady.

(12,814 posts)Riding up the elevator in my building this evening a guy got on wearing flip flops with his toenails painted Seahawks colors. Made me smile. I said "great 'nails," he said "I'm getting ready"...
I got to my floor before I had a chance to ask what was next on the list.
