(40,959 posts)What's led to him being arrested is information in the Epstein files around activities while he was a trade envoy.
Although we don't know specifics, there has to be an assumption that part of this is going to be the sharing of documents within the Epstein files - between Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein himself. That's when Thames Valley Police got involved.
But once you're investigating somebody for alleged misconduct in public office, it doesn't have to focus only on those emails which we've seen publicly in the Epstein files.
Firstly, there's three million documents in the files, so there may be some the media have missed. But secondly, Buckingham Palace said they would support Thames Valley Police in their inquiries.
This suggests maybe some kind of insider trading? I don't know, but they've definitely found something.

banks of the Thames River for an old fashioned Henry the 8th Party?

My understanding is that theres been a very significant development in the investigation into the Epstein files. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been arrested this morning on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
That goes back to documents from when he was a trade envoy, that are alleged to have been passed to Epstein.

"President Trump revealed "highly classified information" to two top Russian officials during a controversial Oval Office meeting last week, according to a report from The Washington Post.
The Post, citing current and former U.S. officials, reported Monday evening that the information relayed by the president to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ambassador Sergey Kislyak "jeopardized a critical source of intelligence" on ISIS:
"The partner had not given the United States permission to share the material with Russia, and officials said Trump's decision to do so endangers cooperation from an ally that has access to the inner workings of the Islamic State. After Trump's meeting, senior White House officials took steps to contain the damage, placing calls to the CIA and the National Security Agency.
" 'This is code-word information,' said a U.S. official familiar with the matter, using terminology that refers to one of the highest classification levels used by American spy agencies. Trump 'revealed more information to the Russian ambassador than we have shared with our own allies.' ".....(more)

Giuffre family: Mountbatten-Windsor arrest proves 'no one is above the law'
Virginia Giuffres family have this morning said in a statement that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsors arrest shows that no one is above the law.
Giuffre was one of the most prominent victims of the disgraced US financier Jeffrey Epstein who also alleged she had been sexually trafficked to Prince Andrew.
She took her own life in April 2025, aged 41.
The statement reads:
At last, today our broken hearts have been lifted with the news that no one is above the law not even royalty.
On behalf of our sister, we extend our gratitude to the UKs Thames Valley Police in their investigation and arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
He was never a prince. For survivors everywhere, Virginia did this for you.

Said Royals knew about these victims for ages. Only now that it has reached financial secrets is the system demanding heads to roll.
They dont give a flying fuck about the working class let alone their children. All the rapes were meh but financial secrets are not allowed.
Eff them all.
And yet Pedolf Hitler / Needy Amin (not sure which I like better) built his cult on raging against "the elites" and "Q" accused Democrats of setting up a child-trafficking ring based in a pizza shop or something. Projection is their tell.
Clearly it's the billionaire elites and private-island, private plane, private yacht, oil executive "elites" who run over "we the people". But they'll criticize Bruce Springsteen. Freaking flaming morons.

(6,304 posts)There may be quite a bundle of emails with Epstein and others that help connect some missing dots and provide some context to already released Epstein emails.
Of course, it will probably be quite a while before anything gets released since this is an ongoing investigation.

(294,635 posts)Responding to news of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsors arrest, former prime minister Gordon Brown said:
I have submitted a five-page memorandum to the Metropolitan, Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley and other relevant UK police constabularies.
This memorandum provides new and additional information to that which I submitted last week to the Met, Essex and Thames Valley police forces where I expressed my concern that we secure justice for trafficked girls and women.
