Gosnell repeatedly insisted his computer was hacked in another of several phone calls made from jail.
"They got ahold of my credit card accounts. They hacked my computer and that's how this whole thing started. I can't talk much more about the case, but that's where it all started. I'm okay, I'm about ready to go crazy," he said.
But the indictment alleges something much different. Prosecutors say Gosnell and Thorpe communicated over the encrypted messaging platform Telegram, then they say Gosnell left a USB drive with illegal material with Thorpe, who later mailed it back to South Carolina.
"We have a pretty good argument. We know what happened. Once they hear....We feel very comfortable that things are gonna gonna go by the wayside," Gosnell said in one of the calls. "We only have to deal with what the facts are. There's certain facts out there that have not come to light yet. It's gonna get a little worse. Make me look like Chester the Molester and I'm not. I don't know how they know anything at all. Everything that's out there right now is just innuendo and rumors."
Gosnell also expressed depression about being placed in a medical facility for his safety. "I'm in four walls that are white with a sink and a potty over there and a bed. It's very difficult, like I said, I feel like I'm in solitary confinement."

In November 2003, Gosnell was talking to a black defendant, whom he knew. Gosnell said he repeated to the defendant a phrase that he had heard spoken by a black sheriffs deputy.
There are four kinds of people in this world black people, white people, red necks, and n, Gosnell said at the time. He told the office of disciplinary counsel at the state Supreme Court that he made the ill-considered statement to try to get the young man to change his life.
