If these guys had even the tiniest shred of capability for self-reflection theyd realize they were used as props by people who are literally putting words in their mouths but alas

OTTAWA Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk said he understands why the U.S. womens hockey team would feel put down by President Donald Trumps comments on a call with players Sunday following the U.S. mens hockey teams gold medal win over Canada. ... On the call, Trump joked he would have to invite the gold-medal-winning womens team to the White House in addition to the men to avoid being impeached. The womens team declined an invitation, citing scheduling issues. On Wednesday, U.S. captain Hilary Knight called the remarks distasteful and unfortunate. ... Asked why he would laugh at Trumps comments, Tkachuk said he didnt have an answer.

Tkachuk was also asked about an AI-generated video shared earlier this week by the White Houses official TikTok account in which he and his brother, Matthew, are answering a question during last years 4 Nations Face-Off tournament. In the video, Bradys answer is overdubbed to make him appear to refer to Canadians as maple syrup-eating fs before showing highlights of the Americans during the Olympic tournament to the tune of Lynyrd Skynyrds Free Bird. It has been viewed over 11 million times. ...Well, its clearly fake, Tkachuk said. Because its not my voice, not my lips moving. Im not in control of any of those accounts, and I know that those words would never come out of my mouth. So, I cant do anything about it.
Its not my voice. Its not what I was saying. I would never say that. Thats not who I am. I dont like that video because thats just never come out of my mouth. ... Tkachuk also said he didnt yell close the Northern border during the teams phone call with Trump. ...Ive been seeing stuff that people think its me, Tkachuk said. But if you watch the video, thats not my voice. Its something that Id never say. I dont really know how that kind of took a storm on its own when I play here (in Ottawa) and give everything I have here. I just think thats something that I never thought would happen in my head and especially would never say. Its crazy when things go on social media, how fast they go. And, of course, I would never say anything like that.
[Ottawa teammate Jake Sanderson] was also asked about Trumps phone call and said the teams reaction to his comments was a mistake. ...But I think things got blown out of proportion a little bit, Sanderson said. We have nothing but the utmost respect for the women. We had a lounge in the village that we were hanging out with them all the time, watching other events, and going to their games ... If we were to do it again, I think we wouldnt do that, and we made a mistake. But, again, I think it kind of got blown out of proportion a little bit.

Per what ought to be DU policy, I'm not posting the AI-generated video. There's a link in the article.

(17,361 posts)That's the problem with embracing fascism. Once you get hugged by it, the stench stays forever.
I hope Tkachuk "enjoys" his stay in Canada. Perhaps he prefers the taste of spit on his "hamberders".
It's ok Brady....Donnie Dipshit has a long history of "having the back of those who kiss his ass"...well, at least as long as he can use them, but it's fine. This will never make your great grandchildren hide their faces in shame at the mention of your name.
Bed Made!...now lie in it asshole
Hitler saw the Games as an opportunity to promote his government and ideals of Aryan racial supremacy. The official Nazi party paper, the Völkischer Beobachter, wrote in the strongest terms that Jewish and black people should not be allowed to participate in the Games. However, when threatened with a boycott of the Games by other nations, Hitler relented and allowed black and Jewish people to participate, and added one token participant to the German teamHelene Mayer, a woman of Jewish descent. Hitler was an adroit player of sexual affairs and he used his liaison with Unity Mitford to good advantage in the public sphere, for example when he gave her a private Olympic stadium box, to which she invited her connections in British high society. In an attempt to "clean up" the host city, the German Ministry of the Interior authorized the chief of police to arrest all Romani and keep them in a "special camp", the Berlin-Marzahn concentration camp.[85] The 'Jews Not Welcome' signs were removed for the duration of the Olympics.
Off topic, but isn't every billionaire Donnie Dipshit ball-licker like Unity Mitford??
She'd fit in at Mar-a-Pervo.
