"As Trump Talked About Taking Greenland, Former Employees Gained a Foothold in the Arctic Island "
This is a headline to an article dated 01/17/26 from the site "Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project" with a byline from Zack Kopplin and Kevin G. Hall with contribution from Eva Jung, Michael Lund and Matt Drange.
This article goes in depth into the various people from the orbit of Crumb the 1st who are involved in various organizations attempting to control rare earth minerals mining in Greenland and perhaps elsewhere. That influence extends not just to people in private companies but also to individuals being appointed by Crumb The 1st to positions in the US government.
As the report notes there are activities of a company called GreenMet (Greentech Minerals Holdings Inc.) that has been involved in trying to control a major mine site in Greenland. Lo and behold one of the Greenmet officials "left" his post in October of last year as the report notes:
"Another person associated with both the Trump administration and GreenMet is the companys former chief geologist, Ned Mamula. He was confirmed last October as director of the U.S. Geological Survey, which a February 2025 Congressional report described as a lead federal science agency responsible for mineral resources research and analysis.
But there seems to be more. Much more as the article notes:
"Former employees who sought or are seeking opportunities include George Sorial, the former executive vice president and chief compliance counsel of the Trump Organization. Also in the group is Trump Organizations former director of security, Keith Schiller, who ran Oval Office operations in the White House during Trumps first term. Both men have an interest in a company called GreenMet."
Yes indeed you may remember the name of Schiller as being some of the "muscle" around Crumb The 1st even before he became a blight on the Presidency. We might have memories of things talked about by Michael Cohen etc. But the head of Greenmet now says:
"Horn told OCCRP that George Sorial and Keith Schiller resigned their roles on the board and as advisors in GreenMet in early 2025, and have had no role other than passive shareholders since that time.
Really? Maybe but the report notes that in December of 2024 Schiller and Sorial formed a lobbying outfit, Javelin Advisors LLC, and while nothing ties that directly to Greenland the report notes their work for Pakistan regarding a rare earth minerals agreement with the US. The report notes that the slogan on Javelin's website is Founded by Insiders. Defined by Access. But there's even more.
In December of 2025 Crumb The 1st announced that Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry would be a "special envoy" to Greenland. No official diplomatic designation just a "special" one. Landry immediately announced his goal as "working to make Greenland part of the US." Perhaps a part of being "special" is that a week before the envoy appointment Louisiana announced $850 million dollars being spent for a rare earth minerals processing facility in Louisiana.
Sherman: "Golly Mr. Peabody I wonder where those minerals are going to come from?"
Mr. Peabody: "Well Sherman there are some locations that come to mind."
