Trump is VERY clearly looking for claims of foreign interference to serve as a basis to declare a national emergency
Brian Tyler Cohen @briantylercohenJust days ago, we found out that Trump is circulating an executive order claiming that China interfered in the 2020 election as a pretext to declare a national emergency and ultimately to declare extraordinary presidential powers over voting.
Then today, as the US bombed Iran, Trump posted: "Iran tried to interfere in 2020, 2024 elections to stop Trump, and now faces renewed war with United States."
Trump is VERY clearly looking for claims of foreign interference to serve as a basis to declare a national emergency and usurp control of the upcoming election. He has threatened the nationalize the election for months. This is how he's going to try and do it. Don't let him fool you. Trump is nothing if not self-interested; he's doing all of this to help himself and consolidate his grip on power.
