Near as I can tell, red markers are oil tankers, green are cargo and pink are fishing boats. Arrow shape means ship is moving, dot shape means not.
Looks like there are a number of ships waiting at the entrance of the strait. I dunno if that means much...

Check out youtube channel "whats going on with shipping" for some excellent perspectives on the oil tanker scene. Might not be a bad time to top off your gas tank.
