The utter disgrace of Trump being coy about wanting to award himself the Medal of Honor. Just sickening.

Trump at the Medal of Honor ceremony today:

"There is no greater honor. I tried for myself. I tried numerous times to get one by myself. I'm only kidding, I have to Sam only kidding otherwise the press will come out, which they actually did once -- (saying) Donald Trump wants the Congressional medal of honor but has been shut down."

The Medal is authorized for any military service member who “distinguishes himself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty

While engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States;
While engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force; or
While serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the United States is not a belligerent party."

Setting aside the requirement of gallantry while engaged with an enemy, Trump isn’t, and never will be, a military service member.

I never thought he'd stoop that low. He'll start pinning a bunch of fake medals on his chest any time now, while wearing some kind of military uniform.

...but still stunning to watch him try to play us, having deliberately avoided serving, and ignoring the troops killed just yesterday as a result of his using the military as a political prop.

As Chris Hayes said, he had a chance to get awarded one of them.
