Just a couple things Trump actually said today

Awkward moment at Kennedy Center board meeting when Trump forces Speaker Johnson to talk about FL Rep. Neal Dunn’s illness.

Johnson: “I think it was a terminal diagnosis.”

Trump: “He would be dead by June.”

Johnson: “That wasn’t public, but yeah, okay.”

Trump on Iran: “They weren't supposed to go after all these other countries in the Middle East. So they hit Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait. Nobody expected that. We were shocked.”

—a few minutes later —

“I knew the Strait would be a weapon. I predicted it a long time ago. I predicted all of this stuff. I predicted Osama bin Laden would knock out the World Trade Center. I wrote it in a book.”

Trump: Cuba, it's a beautiful island. Great weather. I will be having the honor of taking Cuba. Whether I free it, take it. I think I can do anything I want with it, if you want to know the truth

Trump's full rant on Cuba: "I think Cuba, in its own way, tourism and everything else, it's a beautiful island, great weather. They're not in a hurricane zone, which is nice for a change, you know? They won't be asking us for money for hurricanes every week. I do believe I'll have the honor of taking Cuba. That's a big honor. Taking Cuba in some form, you know. Taking Cuba. I mean, whether I free it, take it -- I can do anything I want with it, if you want to know the truth."

Trump on Venezuela: "The president has done a very good job. I get along with him really well." (The president of Venezuela is a woman.)

You can maximize popularity by being on both sides, but the Bushes were subtle about it. Typically 3-4 days stood between both sides of an issue.

I don't quite see this Trump strategy as believable to anyone

I think it shows serious frontal lobe damage.

I think the people of Cuba may disagree with that.

The country has experienced the effects of at least 54 Atlantic hurricanes, or storms that were once tropical or subtropical cyclones, including 37 since 2000.

This is one bizarre reason why Trump Cult members claim they love Trump: he says what’s on his mind – no matter how stupid, ignorant, or wrong.

... for a long time. I think it was Cornyn from Texas that said, "Clinton never met an education program he didn't like!" It was intended as a pejorative.
And Trump has said on numerous occasions that, "I love the poorly educated." He never finished the thought by adding, "... because they're so easy to manipulate into believing my bullshit!"
Voltaire said, "Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities."
And I said, "Oh shit. We. Are. FUCKED!"

Figured being offline while re-configuring the home office was sort of a good/bad thing. But I really get antsy when I can't check the news often. Silly, since there's nothing I can do about any of it, but that crazy man makes me tense when I don't know the insanity of the day.

You are appreciated, underpants. Your updates really are helpful.

... The problem is that Trump’s Bin Laden lie has been checked and debunked numerous times.

The president made no such claim about 9/11 in his 2000 book. The fact checks on this claim date back to before his first presidential run more than a decade ago, but Trump keeps bringing it up ...
