“And now he needs us? Frankly, he can go f—k himself,” he added, before laughing.

The extraordinary moment was televised in France on a show watched by millions. It shows yet another turning point in Europe's relationship toward the U.S., which many worry is gradually being destroyed.

And you though the Star Spangled Banner was militaristic. Rockets red glare and bombs bursting in air's got nothing on the La Marseillaise. Long ago, we learned the words to it in French class and were like whoa! Don't fuck with the French. Our ancestors thought a constitutional monarchy was tyrannical. Try an absolute monarchy. You've got to understand their history to fully get the words and what they mean to the French.

No watering down, no politeness, just tell what you really think.

The French have a direct way to tell 'You really suck!' no matter who you are.

The guillotine was the ultimate method of saying 'You suck!'.
