(43,113 posts)I saw Emily Gregory on television with Jen Psaki. She is a very engaging personality with a wonderful smile.
I think shes a natural for politics and look forward to seeing more of her.
P. S. Poor Trump looks like such a sadsack next to these vibrant, healthy two. Have you noticed he is wearing different colors of ties now? The one he wore yesterday was hot pink; it doesnt help. His eyes are so squinty that I wonder how he can even see out of them. Ive read this is a side effect of his medication.

(11,845 posts)if chump is now communicating codes and information via his chosen tie color of the day.
We know how much he admires British monarchy and aspires to be recognized similarly, and this would be a direct rip-off of Queen Elizabeth's use of her purse position to send messages to her aides. In case you're not familiar with this practice: https://www.instyle.com/queen-elizabeth-purse-sent-messages-8676456
Elizabeth had a few specific gestures in rotation that she would flash to her team so they could help her. Royal expert Hugo Vickers previously revealed that if Elizabeth shifted her purse from one hand to the other, that meant she was ready to be done with the conversation she was in. When she was over the gathering entirely, Elizabeth would place her bag on the table, signaling that she wanted to leave in the next five minutes.
It wasn't just purses that she used when sending signals. To give the message a sense of urgency, the queen would twist her wedding ring when she really wanted to escape an interaction quickly.

(55,050 posts)Though it is Florida and margins are slimmer than a couple months ago, suggesting in my mind either 1) it's Florida, or 2) we are losing turnout enthusiasm (as in VA redistricting now), or the MAGAt opposition is regrouping. Dunno.

(9,949 posts)However , there have been numerous special elections which Republicans won.
Just last week, they won 2 special elections in Pennsylvania, holding on to those 2 seats. https://penncapital-star.com/briefs/pa-republicans-keep-two-state-house-seats-in-special-elections/ . But, even in most of those special elections where Republicans kept their seats, Democrats over performed significantly vs the previous elections in those districts and Trump's preformance in 2024.
For setting the record straight, the jist of it iis Republicans are starting to get their long and well deserved reckoning from voters, let's hope it continues.

(17,479 posts)No one expected Dems to lose in the special elections for the open seats in those districts (they didn't) and no one expectes the Rs to lose their 2 open seats either.
